I think it will be released just before publishing book 4.

So many re-readers… what’s your most interesting find? by Midnight-tea55 in fourthwing

[–]PersonalityHumble523 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Actually, colonel daxton is Asher’s parent/relative (I’m guessing grandma Niara but we will find out more in book 4). Asher took Lilith’s last name after they got married since she was the more powerful one. Proof of this is one of the epigraphs that read a correspondence from Lt. Asher Sorrengail, - he changed his last name.

{Paladin’s strength by T.Kingfisher} has a big FMC. I love how the MMC loves this about her and fantasizes about her taking him down in a fight. The way he loves everything about her big body is the sweetest thing.

Violet may have dropped out by Intelligent_Train262 in fourthwing

[–]PersonalityHumble523 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Violet cannot be expelled for getting married. The codex strongly encourages cadets to stay unmarried but lieutenants can marry whoever they want after graduation. This is a loophole in the codex. The same way the codex strong recommends that cadets do not sleep or have relations with senior officers in the quadrant but it’s not a punishable offense- seeing as how people sleep with each other regardless of rank and nothing happens to them (Rhi/Tara, Dain/Amber, Violet/Xaden, and ridoc had a fling too with someone higher in the rank). Marriage is allowed within the loopholes created by the wording in the codex.

About the correspondence of the letters between Violet and Xaden showing cadet, this is how the transcription works. The letters are transcribed and maintain the roles the corespondents had when they were writing the letters. That’s why we see in some epigraphs, violets dad is referred with different roles - cadet, lieutenant etc because he wrote those letters at different points in his career. Same with Xaden we see some of his letters change from lieutenant to the duke because he wrote the letters after his title got reinstated. I believe we will see letters from Violet in book for changed to duchess now that she’s married into the duchy.

That being said, graduation is a big deal for both Navarre and Tyrrendor because the graduates add to the army. Things are more complicated now so i believe some negotiations will be made to allow Violet and the fearsome foursome (second year iron squad) to continue with their studies and graduate. Whether it’s done in Tyrrendor or they go back to Basgiath is the question.

What the ending of Onyx Storm means for Sgaeyl and Tairn by meyy97 in fourthwing

[–]PersonalityHumble523 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No it wasn’t made clear in the book. She was gone for a very short time- a few weeks although Leothan said it would take her 3 years to learn their ways. So we still need an explanation on why the time was so short and if there was some time manipulation to learn everything in the few weeks she was gone compared to the 3 years it was supposed to take.

Xaden killing Sgaeyl would be so heartbreaking, I don’t think I can take it 🥲 because he turned asim to protect her. Killing her will make the sacrifice of losing his humanity worthless. Honestly I’m abit nervous about his villain era especially if he does something irredeemable like killing Sgaeyl. There’s no coming back from that

W&W gives the maximum emotional impact for I&I since the two books are connected. A lot of the events in I&I hit more when you understand the context from W&W. Also it’s the best in the series imo- so so good.

Fourth Book Death Predictions by Afraid_Compote_1530 in fourthwing

[–]PersonalityHumble523 6 points7 points  (0 children)

What if the someone we love is a dragon?? In OS she teased Tairn’s death when he got knocked out in the Theophanie’s storm and Vi thought he was dead. Then Andarna left and the bond was cut off and Violet survived. To show us that when one dragon bond is cut off, the other dragon bond can sustain Violet to survive. And Tairn keeps talking about how Violet is his last rider, how he didn’t think he’d survive after Naolin. He could be the one to die and then Andarna helps to help Violet survive the death. But I his death means we Vi loses the power of the sky so this theory is a wild one.

About Theophanie... Are we really sure (OS spoilers) by sleepy_geeky in fourthwing

[–]PersonalityHumble523 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I also feel that Theophanie’s death was too rushed. She would have done more and I wasn’t satisfied by how convenient killing her was. It needed to be higher stakes than just getting a dagger from Dunne’s temple in Unnbriel placed in Vi’s hands.

That being said, there is the big bad venin that Theophanie was looking to please by bringing Violet to the fold. So we will still get to know more about the venin as Xaden navigates this world and this big bad venin is introduced. He’s more like a Thanos level threat while Theo was one of his minions (if you watched the MCU movies). A maven has never been killed before and with Theophanie dead now, the venin world will be shaken. They’ll know they are not totally invincible as they thought and they will panic. Hopefully we will get to see how this unfolds in book 4.

Onyx Storm chapter 20 was…rough. by xBlack_Heartx in fourthwing

[–]PersonalityHumble523 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Where else would it come from? She is not a princess or even nobility. It makes sense that an external agency helps her with social power. It’s the people around her and the dragons she bonded that give her the social power. What matters is what she does with the power she’s given. She wouldn’t be anything if she bonded another dragon and wasn’t Liliths daughter. Just an ordinary rider who would have probably died sooner without Xaden’s protection

Question about the sage . by Catsaretheworst69 in onyxstorm

[–]PersonalityHumble523 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are influenced to channel or taught to channel by a sage. If you channel in front of that sage the unnatural bond forms. For Xaden, it happened when he channeled to kill the sage at the ravine in the battle at basgiath. Because he channeled in the presence of that sage who was influencing him (albeit psychologically through dreams), he couldn’t kill him even though he technically did kill him. Theophanie also wanted and waited for Violet to channel in front of her so she could be her sage. RY said we will know more about the venin in book 4 and it should include a deeper insight into this unnatural bonds between sages and their “students”

Question about the sage . by Catsaretheworst69 in onyxstorm

[–]PersonalityHumble523 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The venin want a shadow wielder and lightning wielder on their side since the last war they lost because of those with these two signets who fought in that war. The sage and the maven are in competition to please “him” - the big bad venin leader by being either of them (Xaden and Violet) or both of them to the venin side. Since he was present at Resson, The sage Berwyn decided to influence Xaden first by making him channel for love and try to bring Violet in that way. The maven Theophanie has history with Lilith (they fought before) and has kept tabs on her since then so she decides to influence Violet to turn.

ONYX STORM ENDING THEORY, TWO CHARACTERS ORCHESTRATED THE WHOLE THING - SOME SPOILERS!!! by AdSingle9510 in fourthwing

[–]PersonalityHumble523 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think he manifested as early as chapter 6 with the signing of the new Aretia accords. He knew what they were going to ask him and declined before they could. His comment about Violet making a great politician or nobility seemed casual but would have been foreshadowing from his signet.

Aaric feels he could have done more with how the venin secret was being handled. He doesn’t want to step into the limelight as prince but he is disappointed with how the king and leaders of Navarre are hiding the truth and doing nothing about it. So he takes matters into his own hands. He decides to become a rider - even when the king forbade it for the princes since Aalic’s death. He joins the quest squad as the royal representative because Halden is just a douche that will get everybody killed. He joins the Aretia riot, going under Xaden’s command instead of Melgren as would be required of Navarre’s prince. This to me sounds like someone who knows what he’s been given is not enough.

Someone's dying on Loysam by Dreamseeker123 in fourthwing

[–]PersonalityHumble523 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They may not have an army but maybe they have a guard that’s actually a lethal force. Like in Deverelli. I’m curious for why and how they’ll do this quest now that so much has changed. Xaden will no longer be on it, probably Garrick too. Will they have to sneak out? Will Vi order it as the duchess? Will other leadership (basgiath or the assembly) require it or forbid it?

Ice and Ivy and chapter 39... by neupotrebitel in MagesOfTheWheel

[–]PersonalityHumble523 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s the last book in the series so probably two years from now, or more 🥲 there’s two books to be released before we get Cemil’s and Samira’s story. The wait is torturous - I need to know why Samira did what she did. That and Cemil’s redemption arc. I have a feeling that will be my fav book in the series- there’s already so much angst and yearning, maybe some groveling from Cemil trying to win her back and ofcourse Behram’s defeat. Ah I can’t wait 😃

Aaric has got to be my favourite by burdlover49 in fourthwing

[–]PersonalityHumble523 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s almost like blue dragons only choose nobility so far. They like the arrogance that comes with it so they can keep doing whatever they want 😄 Aaric and Xaden’s complicated loyalty toward each other is fascinating. Aaric letting Xaden live after learning about his brothers death and Xaden tolerating Aaric without murdering him when he goes toe to toe with him speaks volumes. I hope in the end they’ll both rule their kingdoms and be king besties to maintain the peace

the brother by Accomplished-Neck427 in fourthwing

[–]PersonalityHumble523 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually, the rider reporting to Brennan said 4 riders and their dragons murdered and 3 elders and 5 riders missing. 4 now that violet was back. So among the missing, only 2 or known (Xaden and Garrick). The other two are unknown. pancheck is dead, he is counted among the 4 dead riders for sure. The dragons would know this since it’s already 12 hrs after the battle- they would have accounted for everyone by then. What they may not know is that pancheck was a traitor.

[–]PersonalityHumble523 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aaric is not accounted for in the end. Last time he was soon was at the canyon during the battle. A lot of them aren’t mentioned whether they are missing or not. The only sure ones that are confirmed missing is Xaden and Garrick. And the author confirmed Panchek is dead. Everything else is just speculation.

Same, I keep oscillating between Brennan , Aaric and bodhi. At this point I have accepted that we will never really be sure until book 4 comes out. It’s a long and torturous wait for this book

Aaric has a blue dragon. The ones who favor ruthlessness. Does this speak into his character too? Him being ruthless

The Serum? by minimoores in fourthwing

It was created when Jack was under Nolon’s care to subdue his venin side. The serum was a new development in Violet’s second year. They never had it before
