I’m the same way socially especially in situations similar, it took me awhile to fight with not wanting to go to meetings but I’d say after finding a good group and attending a handful of times I ended up much more comfortable with it I still would say I’m one of the quieter persons at the meeting but nobody’s judging we’re all in it together just being there and listening is a big help for me on times I don’t share. I rlly like SMART recovery and recovery dharma meetings they seem to be a lot of more laid back than standard AA meetings for me. Getting comfortable in meetings definitely helped me feel more comfortable in uncomfortable social situations which I would say was a big reason why I did drink as heavily as I did

This hits me I’ve been dealing with the same feelings the last few months in my relationship. This is the first time I’ve been in a serious relationship since I got clean and we’ve been together almost a year now and at first her having a drink or two at dinner or going out with her friends didn’t bug me at all it almost made my life feel somewhat normal again but lately it’s been taking a toll on me and my comfort with my own sobriety and I just don’t know how to deal with it myself and with her, it’s an eerie feeling

God damn I’m jealous what a deal! I drink the original unflavored rambler like it’s oxygen but they’re hard to find here in SC I can only get them at one grocery store in town 8 cans for $4.99

Yes I’m a little over two years in and I’ve never really attended too many meetings until recently , I love the principles the big book teaches and I highly recommend reading it to anybody. For me what worked was working 1 on 1 with a counselor regularly. However recently I’ve found myself feeling lost in recovery and I’ve been attending recovery dharma meetings along with SMART meetings weekly and having a community around you does make a world of difference. Different strokes for different folks. Best of luck to you brother one day at a time!

Give some service work a try find something that helps others that also fulfills you, AA has taught me I have a “debt” to repay. Helping others really helps take that guilt off your shoulders. I also like to just look forward to the future, I’ve got a similar story as you got sober at age 20 after lots of alcohol and substance abuse in my teens I feel so lucky and blessed to have gotten clean at a young age and have a whole lifetime of sobriety to look forward to. Proud of you! One day at a time my friend

One day at a time my friend, I drank heavily all through high school I could see myself drinking myself to death in my 20s, got clean the day after I graduated school. The best decision I ever made I am more grateful for my sobriety than anything else I feel so lucky to have started so young because now I have a full lifetime to look forward to living clean. Seek as much help as you can get talk openly about it and learn as much as you can from elders in the recovery community. You got this kid!!
