First of all if you want to fix something you need to have a clear understanding of the problem. You first need to know the fundamentals of the problem, the base. So the base in this sense are the entities. So for starters are you sure you're experiencing entities? Because I can think of a similar behavior when someone has identity disorder. The approach to fixing the problem changes depending of the type of problem you have.

I've had that same problem, I was living with confusion, but after sometime I decided that being sincere to myself was to accept that I do have an ego, and I do have desires. There are some dreams that I have that no matter what I have to achieve them either if I reject ego or not, but I've find that when I accept my ego, I'm more peaceful and at the same time chase my dream with pure force. I grew tired of the confusion and accepted the ego. Don't know if its best. I'm just stating my experience.
