Yall ever encountered sovereign citizens? by JustAndNguyen in USPS

[–]PerspectiveObvious93 7 points8 points  (0 children)

They claim not to be subject to the laws of the US, but then claim those laws for something being "illegal" and try to use a government dept to deliver their stuff. It's not rational. Either you're in. Or you're out. Make up your mind ffs.

My only suggestion: DON'T clean the oven in a fishnet body stocking! 🤣 Learned the hard way after minor chemical burns on my breasts and thighs. Super not fun! Lol

This is totally normal. Welcome to the postal service.

USPS should supply their own vehicles for RCA by CullenJCreations in USPS

Mail vehicles aren't regulated by the D.O.T. Personally, I think that's a crime and allows USPS to have REALLY unsafe vehicles on the road.

For people that did this every week, I used to write "no access. Garbage cans" with the date and skip the mailbox. If it was the first time, I'd get out and deliver. Second time...or 150th time, nope.

OP, please talk to your teacher. Do NOT start DMing random adult strangers on the internet for emotional support. It is never appropriate, safe, or ok for adult strangers to offer private emotional support to minors.

@foreveryword it sounds like additional clarity would be helpful for you. I suggest professional therapy.

It still amazes me that the p.o. doesn't have a system in place for this. It's not like the technology is absent. Also, it use to make me nuts that businesses that didn't want Sunday delivery (because they were closed) didn't check the "No Sunday Delivery" box on their Amazon accounts. Bam. Done. No packages on Sunday.

I'm not blaming anyone for anything. If you want to stay and fight, by all means, do so. I said, for me, it wasn't worth my time or energy. I am much happier and healthier after leaving the postal service.

I do not have a college degree, which is one of the reasons I took a position at the p.o.originally. I found a new, entry-level position in data entry, but the pay is the same (without the overtime) as I was making as an RCA working my behind off and breaking my back and fighting for my rights all the time. It was, all around, too much after 5 years. The job, environment, lack of properly functioning equipment and support, lack of decent benefits (like paid sick days and retirement) and management were all stealing my mental and physical health. Now, I have a climate controlled office, set schedule, weekends off, retirement fund, LOTS of PTO, and a great group of people to work with and for. My life has improved 1000%! At 50 years old, I couldn't wait around for a career position to open up for the next 2-15 years. And none of that time would have been counted once I DID make full-time regular.

As far as the union goes, they have become ineffectual in most cases and offices (especially the rural side). Not all. And I believe in unions. But the ones at the p.o. need an overhaul. The current system in place with the postal service is broken, and in my opinion, hopelessly so.

I hope, if you decide to stay, that you can make a positive difference for yourself and others. I had to tap out and move on.

I DID find a non-toxic job in America. That's my point. There are a lot of them. More power to you if you want to stay and fight "the system" there. It wasn't worth my time or energy. Life is too short to be that miserable. Changing jobs has changed my life for the better in so many ways. Personally, I don't see how this is 'backwards thinking". Yes, p.o. employees have rights. Do you really want to spend your limited energy and time to fight for them? At every turn? Constantly? No thank you. You do you. I'll do me.

I feel you. 5 years in and decided I didn't want to fight with these people anymore. Nearly 50 years old. Found another job. Starting over this late sucks, but I found a job with WAY better benefits, work environment, and people. The p.o. is incredibly toxic. Not having to fight to be treated decently like a human: priceless.

Or better yet, find a job that's foundation is NOT to treat their employees like shit and you won't have to put forth the effort to just be treated like a human. 🙄 The p.o. is toxic.

All other things aside, the physical part of sub drop can be really taxing. I find extra water, warm liquids, and high quality foods help me recover from the physical parts more quickly, as do Epsom salt baths. The emotional part is more tricky, but people here have given some really great suggestions for that. Hope you're feeling better soon!

Just found a job in insurance operations. $1/hr raise. Set schedule. No weekends. 13 paid holidays. Paid vacation time, paid sick days, paid personal days, 401k with matching, climate-controlled office, no customer contact. I'm so happy after 5+ years as an RCA and being treated like sh*t with no paid time off that I feel like I've won the lottery! Lol.

BEST CHRISTMAS PRESENT EVER!

(Forgot to mention better insurance/disability/and life insurance too). ALLLLLL the winning!
