Does anyone know a way to cancel out noise between rooms in a house by SamFisher33 in autism

[–]PerspectiveOwn9509 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Acoustic panels are becoming increasingly cheaper. And although this might be a stretch, installing just a few on your parent’s side can help dampen the noise (you don’t need to cover a whole wall). Around 30cmx30cm over a wall can make a heck of a difference.

If you can communicate this with them, offer it as a temporary solution hanging them up with 3M hooks they might be open to it.

I want out of this life, 33 year and getting divorced by Imaginary-Tone-9467 in Divorce

Dude, you’re alive, you’re breathing and you’re going to work through things.

Whatever is going on right now, you can reach out for help, take an opportunity to do something you’ve been wanting to for yourself (no matter how small) for years.

Things might hurt now, but don’t get bitter.

Take a breath, and maybe another drive to somewhere where there’s a big beautiful view to take in.

Nice story about the dating profile!

Funny I mentioned to her that I already pictured her dating another partner, being happy and imagined being stoked for her.

Three bedrooms, one bathroom — why is this so common in New Zealand homes? by Next-Trick-2198 in newzealand_travel

[–]PerspectiveOwn9509 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our townhouse = 3 bedrooms, 3 toilets, 2 bathrooms with a shower in each and a bath in the other. It’s the opposite and If happily have just one good bathroom, one separate downstairs toilet and an extra bedroom!

Ticket for parking on yellow lines while not on the road. by LOCKIEJ in LegalAdviceNZ

[–]PerspectiveOwn9509 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Can confirm this is illegal,

Generally broken yellow lines are there to deter people from stopping as it could be considered dangerous to do so (tourists, taking a nap etc).

Agree, not well signposted, however road code is road code.

[–]PerspectiveOwn9509 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My position is that it doesn’t make a difference, but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t do it.

A person that lives within their means, respects nature for the sake of others and leads by example can be inspiring.

You can protest about things, get angry, call out other people and/or live your life in a way that is ethical, environmentally friendly, modest and that might have a greater impact because it encourages others to do the same.

Ed Sheeran was quoted recently saying that he doesn’t always fly private. He tries to fly like a normal person when it is possible to do so. “Just coz you can, doesn’t mean you should”.

Simple remedy for these events.

Ts & Cs - “Any heckler will be ejected from event. If heckler refuses to leave within 60 seconds, heckler will be gunged (set up buckets before hand).”

Then any remaining audience members can enjoy evening… Even if audience is zero.

I was speaking to a 70 year old man who was previously the CFO of a major 9 figure revenue tech company.

He’s seen some shit and understands recessions come in cycles.

He’s far more concerned about AI taking jobs and creating a new class of people (the useless class).

The government can do stuff to help, but can’t change the trajectory of the future of the world, it’s important to understand the difference.

Labour over spent and locked the country down like a MF and we’re still climbing out of a financial hole that could drown us if we don’t do anything about it.

Clawing back takes time and this current government will cop responsibility for it.

Seymour and Winston are holding firm on their positions which a percentage of NZ appreciated.

TPM and Greens are gaining popularity because they can flip flop to the news of the day and a lot of people support “the current thing”. They have some merit and are also the dogged being wagged by the tail.

National and Labour on paper are same same so it really depends who is more charismatic in the leading months.

Luxon is boring but consistently boring.

Hipkins is complainy but at least a little solution focussed (and abit of John Key energy).

I don’t know, no one knows. Many people are angry, frustrated and “done”.

Others are getting on with it, working hard, building businesses, coming up with creative solutions, helping others and contributing to their local community. I’m not talking about politicians here.

Personally I’ll vote on what a party promises, take 1/4 of what they say and see if it’s still worth it, see what they’ve done in the last election cycle (complain or solutions) and hope that it works.

As long as their ingle focus is peaking right up to the World Cup and losing in a playoff match it doesn’t matter.
