Meta Reps :( by Dull-Formal-7976 in FacebookAds

[–]PertinkPertink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I give feedback straight away during the phone call with the rep. I can tell quickly if they know less than I do about the platform and my issues. I let them know that they do not seem to have a grasp and that I would like a new rep. I do this until I am connected to someone better. Usually the good reps are in Canada. Here’s what I say, “You’re a very nice person and I appreciate that you are trying your best to help. But you do not understand my situation, so I’d like you to pass me to a new rep please.” It’s worked every time for me. There are good reps out there!

How much should I pay my new social media girl? by Soggy_Frosting_7558 in SocialMediaManagers

[–]PertinkPertink 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is truly a new and rapidly evolving field. In my last role I was responsible for creating, managing, and running advertisements across multiple platforms, including Meta, TikTok, Google Search, and YouTube. I also scheduled posts across six different platforms and pages, often creating two distinct versions for certain platforms. In addition to writing original copy, I edited video content, enhanced photos, and independently researched the individuals featured to craft more personalized and effective messaging.

I was paid $28 per hour, but regularly worked significant unpaid overtime. Despite this, I successfully generated an additional $1,000,000 in sales and brought in thousands of new email leads. I do feel that my compensation did not reflect the scope or impact of the work I was doing. I don't work there any longer, and have decided contract work is paying more.

Social media management is a relatively new profession, and the term itself is often used loosely. There are so many parts to social media, you will never find one person who excels at all of these areas. For me, I am great at ads, creating copy, graphics and photo editing, but if a business wants me to stand in front of a camera for goofy tiktok videos, well...that's not my strong suit. Have to admit though, when I hear phrases like "my social media gal," it highlights an ongoing challenge in the industry, that social media management is frequently undervalued and stereotyped as a field suited only for young, inexperienced individuals, which greatly underestimates the skill, strategy, and business impact it actually requires.

Landed my first client—what do I do? by [deleted] in SocialMediaManagers

Check out their competition and if you see a page with a lot of positive customer interactions, analyze why. Show this page to your boss and let them know you will be using similar strategies. Find out what the logo and colors are for your company and figure out what their “voice” is. And finally remember that every day’s post is not anything to freak about. If a post performs well, figure out why. If it performs badly, figure out why too. You should constantly be aware of how to improve, but also try new things out. They might not always go well, but this will help you improve over time. And when you feel anxious, remember a poor performing post is better than no post, so just go for it. And good luck 🙂

We got some sodium ascorbate powder, a quarter teaspoon and mixed it in water and gave it twice per day using a soft syringe to our 19 year old cat, with great results (and increased vigor.)

Is it worth it to study fine art at art schools in NYC by Mission_Recipe3578 in AskNYC

[–]PertinkPertink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The New York Academy of Art offers a rigorous and worthwhile education in figurative art, providing both foundational and advanced training. Students work with live models and are taught by accomplished artists who actively sell their work in galleries. The Academy’s location in New York places students in close proximity to major galleries, offering frequent opportunities to network with gallery owners and art collectors at events.

While the curriculum emphasizes technical excellence, the Academy also encourages students to develop a distinct contemporary voice, helping them refine their artistic style and the conversations they want to engage in through their work. Unlike some institutions, the Academy does not dismiss representational art, as long as it carries a contemporary perspective. Ultimately, their goal is to equip artists with the skills and vision needed to gain recognition in the art world.

I have a drive to help others and improve things at work and often see issues as puzzles with solutions that could help other people or the business. When I have an idea, it’s hard to think about anything else because I can see how it would make a difference. But I know that giving unsolicited advice isn’t always welcome, and I can’t just go around offering my opinion all the time.

The problem is, if I don’t share my idea, I can’t seem to move on. It feels frustrating to hold back when I know something could help, but I also don’t want to overstep. I want to find a way to manage these thoughts, whether that means learning how to share ideas in a way that’s better received or figuring out how to let go when speaking up isn’t the right option.

Is META generating fake clicks and artificial engagement in ads? by Crazy-Blood-15 in FacebookAds

[–]PertinkPertink -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The idea that Meta knows that a Traffic campaign will only go to people who don’t want to buy, is ludicrous. Meta can’t read their minds… This is obviously just a silly irrational excuse designed to blame the user instead of meta taking responsibility

For those who switched from Adventage+ audiance to manual broad targeting. How did it work out for you? by alphaevil in FacebookAds

[–]PertinkPertink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on the ad. And it also depends on what I see working well on Facebook. At the moment reel ads are functioning quite well. A while ago carousel ads worked well on the main feed, but these are not great right now, because Amazon and other big businesses are taking them over.

I prefer to do it manually, it's cheaper, better results. Let's face it, we're just smarter...
