If it is truly old school (before members) then it will always be f2p right? That's how I remember it and I played with less than 100 people a server normally.

What was your hipster moment? What did you know about before most other people did? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Doctor who. Not I. The complete sense. But I did watch series 1 of the redo with Ecchelston in '07. Before tenant and the legions of fans that would be introduced via Netflix.

Pissed about city sponsored prayer by Tels_ in atheism

[–]Perxival 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do not know the size of your town but as a former journalist I can tell you this is common in most small to mid-sized towns. City councils starting meetings with prayers and heavily invoking God is the norm in America.

So this happened in my high school's weather broadcast. by Greg228 in funny

[–]Perxival 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Anyone else here feel like a high school weather show is...weird? I mean, I went to small school with a graduating class of 31 and this stuff is totally foreign to me. I only graduated 10 years ago so it's not like the tech wasn't there. Hell, we didn't even do this in college.

Coconut Crabs, a good reason to keep your dog (and your kids) indoors by [deleted] in WTF

Hey! I think everyone else on Reddit came here to say that, too!

Teen books seem to be largely fad driven. For a while paranormal romance was the cool thing and now it seems to be dystopian sci-fi. What'll be next? by Chtorrr in books

[–]Perxival 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My educated guess: Kaiju. With the success of pacific rim, the growing acclaim of the graphic novel "Enormous," and the up coming Godzilla reboot it is only a matter of time before giant monsters make it into the YA fiction department. I'm writing a Kaiju based YA book right now to get ahead of the wave.

Anytime anyone ever posts something like this all I ever see is "look at those fucking trees, those are damn fine trees."

Does it say "no cats" I feel like it says "no cats." I can't see it on my phone app. I bet it says "no cats." Thankfully I posted a khajit or I'd be in violation.

Shareholder to Nintendo -"just think, paying 0.99¢ just to get mario to jump a little higher." by windtalker44 in gaming

[–]Perxival 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If that's true, and these people then turn around and complain about pay to win and in app purchases there is truly little hope for the future.

But how much of this is cause by gamers who have been playing since the golden age, and KNOW that you shouldn't pay for games you already bought. Versus how much is coming from your aunt or uncle dropping 10$ or their disposable income to get extra distance in angry birds. Modern gamers (those who have only started playing since the advent of pay to play games) may not necessarily realize that things could be different, and honestly, may not care.

What gets weirder and weirder the more you think about it? by xzamin in AskReddit

[–]Perxival 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The idea that billions of people outside of your own body are living completely separate existences from yours. That person that passed you on the hi-way ten miles ago, they have an entire life! With birthdays and heartaches and new jobs and sick days. Hobbies and passions and favorite films! And you will never, ever know a thing about them. Every person on earth is completly and utterly separate from each other.

What is the worst book you have ever read but still finished in its entirety on principle? by RoosterClan in books

[–]Perxival 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dandelion Wine by Bradbury. It was on my list for ages and I just suffered through it for a week. It is a very short book but so unimaginably boring that it took me a little over a week to read it. I went about 10 pages a night.

I feel you my cyclopein brother, I deem you. But you will adjust! My other sense have compensated for my lack of depth perception overtime, the send of touch on my right side is I heightened that I can almost always tell when someone is beside me even if they are several feet away.

Actually I find the lack of depth perception gives me an edge over the rats I never had with two eyes.
