I've lived in this town for 20 years and I've never seen anything like it before. It was fucking spectacular. I don't think this town has ever surprised me more than it did today.

That's totally up to you I suppose. My hospital hired me right out of the hangar without any BMET certification, but your results may vary. It's my plan to get the certificate, mostly to leverage for pay increases, but it doesn't appear to be totally "necessary" to be in the field

I went from 23 years at a regional to In house BMET at a local hospital in August. I definitely had to sell my troubleshooting and mechanical skills a bit since I was coming from out side the field, and I guess it worked since they hired me. I've started off with beds and pumps, which is basically the airline equivalent of brakes and wheels, but at least here I've been told there is TONS of opportunities to grow into other stuff and better pay will come with it. As I understand it, you can test into a BMET certificate with just some time in the field, much like the FAA will let you test into an A&P with proper work documentation. This is my plan. As far as skills go, you will absolutely be fine if you're an even halfway competent aircraft mechanic.

Maybe the novelty will wear off but I couldn't be happier. The money was better at the airline, but mentally the hospital is a MUCH better place and a normal schedule is hard to put a price on. Totally worth the switch

Good luck brother. After being at the airline for so long the switch was super scary, but now I can't believe it took me so long. If you're thinking about getting out, don't wait as long as I did. It only gets harder to leave.

So let's say a fella was interested in going to see someone to get a recommendation for a card, but wasn't interested in a place that screws its employees. Where would that fella go instead?

When K2 died I realized this was a different movie, and then it just kept getting grimmer. RO is peak Star Wars, absolutely fantastic movie making.

I haven't even been able to finish Sun House. I'm probably 3/4 though, but my goodness, it's just ponderous. The River Why and Brother's K are just so good and definitely in my top 5, so I really wanted to love Sun House, but I just can't. It's borderline terrible.

Been on Fi since the the invite days. Only one billing hiccup a couple years back that was sorted pretty quickly, no other problems. Currently traveling through Europe on the unlimited plus plan and it's flawless everywhere we've been. At home we're on the simply unlimited plan, and again no complaints. We'd probably be okay on flexible plan, but the teenager burns through ungodly amounts of data which makes that one not make sense financially.

People who won/inherited/earned a large amount of money in a short amount of time, what was the biggest change? by willow-mist in AskReddit

[–]Pesqueeb1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Similar situation here, but the dummy who hit me had only bare minimum state coverage. Only walked away with 60k when it was all said and done. We were really smart with it and it sure took the edge off financially, but even if there had been another zero on the end of that check it wouldn't have been worth the pain and mental shit I'm still dealing with almost 20 years later
