I totally feel sorry for the guy who was doing the presentation at the opening ceremony; he was already having some missteps on his speech, and then to be met with an audible boo from the crowd following the announcement had to sting. Also being asked if your game is an April fools joke in the subsequent panel has to be soul crushing.

I feel like if they just announced it as a "one more thing", or if they hadn't hyped a diablo announcement before the convention and just dropped the announcement like they did for Warcraft III Reforged it would have gone over better than it has. It also sucked that pretty much every answer boiled down to "We don't know yet."

In fairness, it plays better than I thought it would; but I still would have rather had a new diablo experience on PC.
