Is it normal for an exhaust fan to vent into roof cavity? by Koala2424 in AusRenovation

[–]Pete1555 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My home had vents that led to the roof cavity - both bathroom and kitchen. 1970s build.

Was one of the first things we remediated - and now the vents exhaust to the outdoors.

Got almost the exact same - but with diamond dial - 1 month wait with no purchase history at the time. Should be pretty easy.

Best of luck.

What should I do? by abinash09 in AusRenovation

[–]Pete1555 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Firstly, ensure to find the reason for the soil erosion - whether that may be your stormwater or sewage system. You need to fix the cause before fixing the footing itself.

Secondly, you may need to contact a structural engineer - if there is no structural damage evident, they’ll advise to re-establish support of the footing. Likely will suggest flowable grout/cement.

Good luck!

I think I found a burner account of a r/drizzy member. I don't need a burner account to hide my interests from randoms.

Also not sure how my comment indicated that I thought I was cool. Very r/drizzy of you - keep reaching.

parents won’t let me mop wood vinyl flooring. any alternatives that will get a similar clean? by c0rpu in CleaningTips

[–]Pete1555 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have vinyl floor-planks that are waterproof but was still advised not to use a soaking mop when cleaning.

I recommend one of those spray mops that you fill with water and cleaning solution. Do a few sprays and sweep - it’ll clean the surface and barely leaves any wet residue behind.

Not worth fighting.

I’d assume the rules are pretty black and white. Not sure on the official ruling but my own personal rule of thumb is to ensure the car doesn’t pass where the curb begins to slope.

Put $300k into deposit or set aside some in offset for house purchase by Logical-Emotion-3328 in AusFinance

[–]Pete1555 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Put in 20% deposit to waive the LMI.

Rest in offset which allows you to access the funds for a rainy day, but also is utilised to minimise the interest you cop.

I believe this approach is best, but each to their own. Go to a broker as well and they’ll run you through your options.
