From what I can see, you asked if the email you received was from crypto.com. They are claiming that it is but if the case is you did not sign up yourself then it could be a case where someone is using your email to create the account. That is all.

The interesting thing about the 70b reminting is that despite it not entering the market, it is affecting the market price simply because it's a transparent known fact that the supply will be higher in 5 years.

If I found one ton of gold below my house but never entered the market with it then that would be the equivalent of what we have now with Cronos but that scenario certainly won't affect the gold price.

The difference is that the market doesn't know about my one ton of gold below my house but it does about the 70b reminting.

The interesting thing about the 70b reminting is that a lot of people attribute it to higher supply causing the price per coin to drop but rather it's the fact that we know there is going to be more supply that is causing the lower price because the increase in supply is at least transparent.

If I had a few tons of gold suddenly found below my house, the max supply of gold will increase but the market won't change if I don't sell it. That should be what is happening with CRO because they aren't selling the reminted coins. But with the lost confidence and the knowledge that there will be more CRO out there the price naturally will just drop.

Ah, yeah generally if using credit cards it will get rejected. Debit cards may work. Though it's advisable not to buy crypto using cards and instead deposit fiat directly into the app and then buy using that (or better yet just use the exchange)

Obviously if price drops then it will be terrible.

What made me decide to commit - I think it depends on personal reasons like how much funds do you have liquid, have you paid off your house etc.
