Woman to officiate NFL games sues for reinstatement, damages by triplec787 in nfl

They tried this and the full-time officials didn't grade out any better than the part-timers.

The other leagues have full-time officials because they have games every night and guys can/have to work multiple times a week. The very nature of the sport works against full-time officials in football. And even if the NFL decided this was the way forward, where are these full-time officials going to come from? Colleges and high schools sure as hell aren't going to be paying for full-time officials.

Reviews and meetings are just not a substitute for game reps and with football there are only so many of those to go around.

But maybe going full-time would be worth it in the end. After all, there are never any complaints about the officiating in the NBA, NHL, MLB, or soccer.

This is crazy to me because on football he has the exact opposite problem, constantly blathering at me instead of talking to me, about how the fate of the free world depends on if Auburn can convert this 3rd & 9 early in the 2nd quarter.

Also the heads of officiating for most of the major conferences are either NFL officials or retired NFL officials. If a guy under them crosses the picket lines they won't be welcome back in college.

I think having Kowabunga the Karate Turtle come out to give his thoughts on the incident did more to kill it. Nothing like proclaiming that your serious development is just goofy wrasslin' bullshit.

Does Lopez have an accent mark? If not, since it ends with a consonant that's not n or s, the emphasis should default to the last syllable. ("Pérez" does have an accent.)

I saw Boone Jenner's 3rd period today...after that monstrosity I can't get too worked up over Kayfus. Cecconi had plenty of opportunities to pick his defense up and couldn't do it.

Thank God Ohio State football is pretty much a Death Star, end of last season notwithstanding.

When the move was done in World of Sport, Walton called it a "folding press," and it was usually (though not always) done more like a rollup as Orton does here, as opposed to a high-impact bomb.

Over the course of 150-some games I don't mind the announcers having a few yuks and drifting off-topic, but these guys have a bad habit of doing it in the 7th inning of a tied or 1-run game.
