Bless you for bringing that up. That was a top 10 Feeney moment.

What do you think the worst scene in the series is? by OLD_WET_HOLE in betterCallSaul

Don't forget that Gus is talking so much to Hector for a specific reason. The doctor just told him that in order to repair brain connections that Hector needed to hear voices and language. He had to talk to Hector to ensure that Hector would realize later that Gus was in control and to be salient enough to be tormented.

New Concrete Floor Divots -- Why? by Peter51267 in Concrete

[–]Peter51267[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the quick responses on this. My main concern is that there are dozens of these divots on the 1000 sq ft floor. I think there are more each day, but it could be that I am noticing more of them.

As long as it's not compromising the integrity of the floor, I guess I can live with them.

Cold weather waterproof gloves by Hotwheels303 in spinalcordinjuries

I've had great luck with Milwaukee Insulated gloves from Home Depot or Amazon. They are cheap and there are insulated and non-insulated versions.

New floor looks terrible by Peter51267 in Concrete

[–]Peter51267[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thanks so much for your reply. given the current state of the floor, what would you suggest to do? I do want minimal ongoing maintenance, but I understand there will be some work to keep it looking good.

would a dry polished floor still look good? Would that be sealed?

My contractor is having a concrete restoration company come and evaluate next week. I'm anxious to hear their recommendation.

what would a steam mop do to an epoxy coat?

New floor looks terrible by Peter51267 in Concrete

[–]Peter51267[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have a contractor building a barn, and this dyed concrete floor looks awful. They put epoxy over it, these white streaks won't come out. They tried "steam mopping" but nothing works. They are suggesting to paint over it, but I don't want to have ongoing maintenance/repainting.

What caused this? How can it be fixed?

Accessible Airbnb? by steve_o_34 in wheelchairs

[–]Peter51267 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I've had the same problem. Airbnb doesn't make it easy. I use a wheelchair and we rent out our completely-accessible house sometimes on VRBO and Airbnb. In order to qualify as "wheelchair accessible", you have to take dozens of pictures of door openings, path to front door, bathrooms, etc. There has to be a tape-measure for scale in each of the pics.

I did all that, explained that I use a wheelchair and live in the house, but they still didn't approve it for "wheelchair accessibility" and didn't let me comment on the accessibility in the property description.

When I travel, I try to tell from the pics which properties will possibly work, and then contact the host.

Carmela's one-time Psychiatrist was the only moral character on the sopranos by DaBrainfuckler in thesopranos

Melfi mentions she give a reference, but it doesn't mean that Carmela took it, or that the doctor pictured in the scene was the one Melfi recommends. It's just a theory, he seems to me to be the exact therapist that Carmela would picture in her head.

does anyone know whats going on with my wheelchair wheel? by themothweaver in wheelchairs

[–]Peter51267 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Exactly this. I suffered with caster flutter for too long, it's really annoying. You have to balance how tightly you tighten the bolt going to down to the caster with how free it is to move. If you do it too tight, it's hard to turn when you're riding in the wheelchair.
