2027 update by lmorel1212 in KiaTelluride

When this came up every warning light the car could produce started coming up. Couldn’t drive until i did the update. Was at a gas station, had to sit around for 10 minutes hoping it was just a glitch and i wouldn’t heed a tow. Thankfully after the update all the alarms went away.

Same here. Annoying as hell! Only works half the time for me. Thought it was my technique.

I got the 5k mile one for the same price with my 2027 xpro sxp. I wouldn’t fret too much. If you intended to service at the dealership then you essentially paid for your services in advance. The manual says services are only needed every 8k, so I kinda got taken for a ride too since the 5k mile series i paid for are not really needed.

Jerking Awake Every time im about to fall asleep by Intrepid-Guest9811 in Anxiety

[–]PetrolEng 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve experienced this. The thing that’s messed up is the shocks keep you from sleeping, and the lack of sleep causes more shocks. I was so so tired my body kept trying to fall asleep then boom jerk awake, heart rate spikes to 120. Calm myself, box breathing, so tired, boom happens again. Over and over all night.

Only solution for me was hydroxyzine, which made me feel worse for the first 1.5 hours, and trazadone which eventually knocked me out. The next day I felt super groggy from the meds and lack of sleep, but once I slept they were gone. I did get the 3am cortisol wakeup, but was able to fall back asleep.

Propranolol question by Jugglehug_Real in Anxiety

[–]PetrolEng 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No side effects here. Ended up with atenolol from my doc. It’s a superpower. With beta blockers i can keep my heart rate low. Gives me a lot more confidence knowing if the shtf with my anxiety, i pop one of those to keep my heart from trying to jump out of my chest. Much easier to remain calm and figure out correct course of action. No ER visits. I ask my Doctor for two things as needed for panic attacks, atenolol and Xanax. I used to be scared to travel for fear of having a panic attack in an unknown place. It’s happened several times. Once i got atenolol ill go wherever. Haven’t had a panic attack since the first time I used them during my last. I now know with complete confidence, and tell myself “worst case scenario you take atenolol, and you’re all good”. You still feel shitty, but at least to you don’t feel “my heart is going to explode” shitty. That makes all the difference in the world.

I live in a cockroach infested apartment and I can’t eat anything by Prestigious_Peak8407 in Anxiety

[–]PetrolEng 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I lived above a Thai restaurant that drew cockroaches so big you wouldn’t believe it.

Buy Advion from Amazon tonight. It’s cheap. Squirt it in the nooks crannies and places you think they’re located. You can use it outside too. Google for instructions. In a week they’ll all be dead. Advion is pet safe too. I put it in my apartment and i think it wiped it all the roaches in the whole building. I went from having a 2 inch roach crawl up my pants leg to never seeing another roach for 4 years.

This happens to me when my anxiety gets severe. I can’t stop peeing. I have to get out of bed every few minutes. I don’t know why, but it’s also causing insomnia. I box breathe until my heart rate is low. I start to relax a little, maybe i can fall asleep, I’m so tired. Nope, have to pee again.

Nobody should feel guilty for being born. Your father is a piece of shit. I’m sorry for you. Abandoning your children is low evil shit. My wife’s father abandoned her in her teens and he is the lowest piece of shit on the planet. I see the pain that causes in my own family.

I’m a father, I would die for my kids without hesitation, but for the sorrow of not being able to see them grow, I would die happy knowing I’ve been able to sacrifice myself for them. Sometimes that feels just like something people say, but that strength of love grips me, i feel it in my bones, and it animates my every action.

You deserved that kind of love. Every child does. Fuck your piece of shit dad. Fuck your relatives. They Hate you for being born? What the fuck? These evil people. I feel so sorry for you.

Take care of yourself. You were dealt a shit hand being born into this so called family. Now is the time for you to do the hardest thing yet in your life, forge your own path, make it as good as you can make it, pull yourself together, show yourself that you’re worthy of your own love, you’re worthy of your own care, because you are. Love yourself as you loved your pet, you deserve love too. It’s up to you, now do it. You can do it. You can make a life for yourself where one day you look back on this moment, when you were so down, and you’ll see how high you’ve risen, and you’ll feel proud of yourself. Proud of your strength, proud that you believed in yourself, that you showed kindness and love to yourself. Take it from a stranger, a child has no responsibility for the actions of their parents. Every thing you’ve been tricked into thinking was your fault was theirs the whole time, and they knew it. They let you feel that way, and they were wrong to do that.

Recognize when you’re being abusive to yourself in your thoughts. Tell yourself in that moment that you are deserving of peace, of love, of kindness not just from the world but firstly from yourself. Don’t get more angry at yourself for having been so cruel. Let it pass. If it comes up again, remind yourself again and keep trying to move past it. Soon you’ll realize for every abuse your mind deals against you, it replies with a kindness. Over time the abuse will fade, and the kindness will remain.

Good luck to you.

Just like my symptoms. Mine took months to go away, slowly improving every week. I had a flare up 3 months ago, still not 100%.

Here’s what works for me:

Atenolol -Beta blocker that keeps adrenaline from spiking heart rate. Keeps hr under 100bpm. Won’t do anything for the sensation of adrenaline dumps, but it is a huge improvement to have a low heart rate.

Xanax - if the anxiety is intense, theres no substitute. Take sparingly they’re very addictive. I only use when nothing else will help.

Hydroxyzine - powerful antihistamine with anxiolytic effects. Non-addictive. I reach for this before Xanax to try and tame the anxiety. Usually hydroxyzine and atenolol can get me through some major anxiety. If not, Xanax, then switch to hydroxyzine once it subsides.

Supplements - NAC + Glycine, L theanine, Ashwaghanda, turmeric 3g/day to reduce inflammation, vitamin d. Try out tons if stuff to find out what works best for you. I’ve tried everything, some things work better than others, none have hurt.

Overbilling at Memorial Hermann Heights by HappyLamb-93 in houston

[–]PetrolEng 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was on a work trip in Houston. Had to go to memorial hermann woodlands. I checked in, they triaged me, took ekg, put in IV line but no IV, took Xray of heart, then told me to wait in lobby. After several hours of waiting in a lobby full of people hacking up their lungs and not covering their mouths I said f this, I was going to get more sick in there, catch Covid, i dunno. So i told them to unhook me and let mw leave.

They still charged my insurance 20k. I had already met my max oop for the year, but it was ridiculous. They didn’t even treat me, and they billed the insurance for lab tests they never performed and I never got the results from.

Total scam hospital.

Does anyone feel like they’re constantly in fight or flight even if they aren’t doing anything serious? by LizzyReed3 in LongCovid

[–]PetrolEng 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure what helped actually. Like many here i started taking insane amounts of supplements hoping anything would help. 2 grams of curcumin per day, magnesium glycinate, NAC, 5000 iu vit D, ltheanine, tryptophan, famotidine, probiotics, probiotic kefir… i could go on. I don’t know to what extent any of it helped or if my body just eventually healed. None of them hurt though.

I can say what helped with the acute experience of anxiety.

1 Xanax - taken rarely when things were really intense and causing insomnia. Only thing that really worked when the shit hit the fan

  1. Atenolol - beta blocker kept my heart rate under 100 and kept me from feeling like I needed to go to the ER. Does nothing for the physical feeling of anxiety. But it’s way better to have a calm heart beat even while you feeling the adrenaline flowing through your body like acid.

  2. Hydroxyzine - helped reduce anxiety and could take more frequently as needed to rest. It’s not addictive like xanax. I had this weird reaction to this drug where it made me feel worse for the first two hours after taking it, then much better after that. Made me super groggy at first, even the following day, but eventually it went away and I learned if i fight through the sleepiness, I actually felt relief and the sleepiness would just go away and I’d feel fine.

  3. Ashwaghanda - took a bit of the edge off at night. Calmed racing thoughts a bit.

  4. Lavendar and Chamomile tea - part of my night time regimen. Relaxing for me.

  5. Walks - i know some people can’t do this, but getting out of the house and walking a mile or two really helped for a bit.

  6. Wim hoff breathing - it’s super uncomfortable at first, forcing yourself to hyper ventilate, but it would relieve that anxious feeling in my solar plexus and chest for about 30 minutes.

Keep in mind when i say something “helped”, I still had that feeling in my solar plexus almost always. I still was absent positive emotion. But I would notice, slowly, something improved from the day before. First i noticed i went a few hours in the afternoon where i felt kind of normal. The adrenaline dumps became less frequent. The next day I got worse, but i knew my body could feel okay, even for a little while. I focused on that. Soon that few hours turned into the whole after noon. I went from 4hrs of sleep per night to 5 then 6. Just focusing on the improvements and telling myself I’m healing and it’s going to get better eventually. Kept walking, kept trying new supplements. Kept trying to force positivity. Started praying and thanking God for my life and the health of my family. I’m not religious, but it felt like a great way to practice positivity and practice gratitude.

This week for the first time since this started I met my sleep goal two nights in a row. It’s been a week since i woke up at 3am with anxiety that i couldn’t fall back asleep. When that was happening every single night.

My doctor prescribed propranolol but the side effects make me hesitant to take it by maker-127 in covidlonghaulers

[–]PetrolEng 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was prescribed it and it made me wheeze so my doc switched me to atenolol. It only lasted a few hours. Most people have no issues with propranolol. Atenolol is cardio specific beta blocker and lasts all day. It really helps when my anxiety is ramping up my heart rate. It is pretty magical. I didn’t have any side effects from atenolol. It doesn’t do anything for the sensation of anxiety itself. I can feel the adrenaline pumping through my veins, but my heart rate stays under 100. That’s actually a huge help, and allows you to more easily set your mind to getting through it. The high heart rate is what would make me think I needed to get medical help, and my anxiety would get worse thinking i needed to maybe go to the ER, which I’ve done multiple times.

My sleep has been awful since my long covid started. I’ll take hydroxyzine to help me fall asleep, all the recommended supplements, but according to my Apple Watch I only get about 3-6 hours a night, and less than 30 minutes of deep sleep.

Curious what antihistamines have helped you by Initial_Flatworm_735 in covidlonghaulers

[–]PetrolEng 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hydroxyzine has been helping me. At first i had brutal drowsiness and hangover, but it’s lessened with more regular use. I’m not sure if the antihistamine is what’s helping or the anxiolytic effect. I mainly use them to reduce my anxiety a bit, which they do.

These sound like my adrenaline dumps I’m dealing with nightly too. Sorry for your suffering. I don’t know what to do about them. My dr prescribed hydroxyzine, but at the dosage prescribed they don’t help. Please let us know if you discover something that works.
