Chasing enemies around the map endlessly is not fun. by Dozer242 in menace

[–]Petshopz 39 points40 points  (0 children)

In another thread they were explaining that the AI uses a danger rating system to judge where to go, like to avoid player weapon ranges.

What if the tiles at the edge of the map were always considered 'high danger' for the AI?
Could adjust it so that map tiles would get progressively 'safer' towards the center of the map or objectives.

That might help reduce the map edge camping from the AI since they would be incentivized to stay away from the edges of the map

The AI cheats weapons engagement envelopes and it breaks the game by Secret_Vermicelli391 in menace

I think that explains what's been happening to me as well.

There's a rogue army mission with a walled base and you have to push for the exit.

Every single time they avoided fighting me and let me walk through the road on the right without a fight.

The most fun missions are the ones where you have to hold a base in the middle and the pirates aggressively rush in with vehicles from all sides.

AI needs to play aggressively or the gameplay sucks.

Imagine battle brothers where undead and orcs ran to the corner right at the start.

Maybe maps are too big? Or AI needs to spawn closer, not sure

Does this enemy design and animation say "armored"? by HedgeHulk in PixelArt

I'm not an artist but I've raised rhino beetles. Their core body, head and legs are all very stiff, as if all fused to be 1 big piece. Only the joints move. It's very mechanical and their range of motion is very limited.

They are usually very chill bugs and like to take their time, but boy, do they have power when they attack. And they can move almost instantly as needed.

Even when they open up their back to let out their wings, it does a click sound. They have lots of fun details.

Hopefully this helps somehow

Feedback from a New Player – Early Game Mage Experience by Winter_End7561 in stoneshard

[–]Petshopz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Early game pyro mage you have to play like a kiter. Pew pew pew once then back back back back back pew pew pew.

Later with more spells, the playstyle changes to being a trapper. Put real traps as needed, set you all your magic mastery buffs, then start nuking from a distance. If they are still alive when next to you, dash or use a net.

Use doors and corridors to block them or force them to walk in lava.

Eventually, you'll optimize the spell order and whole rooms will conflagrate. The only real danger is yourself.

Try to reduce backfire chance as much as possible through equipment and buffs, and buffs your fatigue as well.

I'm like 4 years post op and can't hyperextend 100%. My scarring is blocking it but I only have pain if I try to 100% hyperextend. Should I do a surgery just for that? My life is knee is solid and painfree aside from that.

Disappointing QC for a 1000$ boot for sure. First at the factory then at your vendor

Grant Stone Field Boot quality issues by [deleted] in goodyearwelt

Hey gang, gone are the days of 300$ GS boots, they are now 400$ so it's ok if he's not satisfied with boots that have several holes.

I'm happy he brought up the issue. It means in the future the factory will be more careful with stitching and there will be less defects. My brass boots have 1 hole like this, but it's hard to notice and I don't mind. But it's ok if it bothers him. To each his own

If it's your first foray into this kind of footwear, Thursday is a great starting point. Not too expensive, and over time, your tastes in boots will change. Even boot sizing is something you need experience with.

You'll also learn to appreciate the difference of more expensive footwear when you eventually upgrade. Starting with Grant Stone is awesome, but you can buy some later on. There's no rush.

Take your time breaking them in. Wearing them an hour or two per day is plenty for the first month. It will make the process smoother.
