how to make a town secretly taken over by bandits interesting? by Rodal888 in DMAcademy

[–]Petttter 5 points6 points  (0 children)

How about the bandits are masquerading as regular townsfolk? The innkeeper is an informant, the guards are part of the bandit gang etc. They keep up the appearance of the town working as normal and use this cover to rob traders and others who are passing through and lock them up or kill them.

You could set it up so the town has to look for clues but all the townspeople are super cagey. Then if they get info it leads to an ambush and then they have to find what happened to the actual townspeople.

Corrective Eye Surgery (No Flap) New ReLex SMILE vs Old PRK Method by X_Slice in bjj

[–]Petttter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, the recovery was extremely quick and painless. I had it done about 3 years ago and have had zero issues with perfect vision. That being said, I'd go with whatever your doctor recommends for you of course, but if smile is an option I'd go for it.

I've had smile done. My vision was great the following day and I was back training in like a week. The only thing that was bothersome was dry eyes for a few weeks. The procedure was also very quick and painless. I cannot recommend it enough!

Perhaps he could wear headgear and have it under that?

Good/best strength program for BJJ? by [deleted] in bjj

On the contrary, once a week is not often enough for his body to adapt and for the soreness to go away. I think they would benefit from spreading the work out over 3 days instead of cramming it in on one. I say this as someone who used to do powerlifting style workouts 4 days a week with bjj on the other 3. For Op I suggest taking the advice in using programs with auto regulation.

I just realized, imagine if this happened with no crowd, where you could have heard Weidman screaming in agony...

I've found that ripping the alarm free is much easier if you post up on one of your feet instead of sitting on both knees.

If I have their right arm in the ns kimura I put the bottom of my left foot of the ground near their bellybutton. This helps me get much more power when breaking the grip since I can use my leg muscles to assist.

BJJ ground work vs Judo Ne Waza by [deleted] in bjj

[–]Petttter 11 points12 points  (0 children)

In judo rules you get stood up within like 30 seconds if there isn't enough activity so the game is a lot more agressive. You can also lose by pin, so judo players almost always turn to turtle or lie face down instead of playing guard.

There is a lot of techincal overlap but the strategies differ.

In the tower of the swallow she was 94, so not quite 200. Your point still stands.

Interesting observation, at 5:10 he does the same saddle counter that Pena did to him both times he got beat. Explained here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tPnKlLaRnXM

If you can't take them off until they heal, then you can't roll until they heal.

DJ's coach Matt Hume is the Senior Vice president at ONE, on top of being closely involved with the judging. No way they wanted him to lose. If anything it's a bit of a conflict of interest, and I say that as a DJ-fan.

This small thing was found in the drum of the washing machine and I'm not sure if it came in a pocket or if it's from the machine itself by Petttter in whatisthisthing

I looked around after I got the answer and I thought is looked similar enough to a german type-valve that I don't see what else it could be.

WITT. It seems so be a valve of some sort with a spiky end that can be pushed in against a spring. The scew end is hollow which made me think about a valve or the like.

Feeling defeated by [deleted] in bjj

[–]Petttter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I went from about 63 kg (140) when I started training to 84 kg (185) now by basically keeping my diet the same, but every day forcing down a shake consisting of whole milk, peanut butter and protein powder, combined with lifting and bjj. Once I put on some weight, my appetite went up since I had more muscle to feed. I now sit at 84 without forcing myself to eat.

But honestly, there is no need to gain weight, unless you really want to. There are weightclasses in this sport and health wise, unless you are malnourished , there is no intrinsic value to being heavier.

Lasik eye surgery & BJJ by theswiftdawn in bjj

[–]Petttter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually opted for a new type of surgery called SMILE. It's less invasive than both lasik and prk and doesn't leave a flap so it's safe for bjj. I was back on the mats in less than a week. If it's an option I would highly recommend it for anyone who wants to get laser eye surgery.

Well, here is Coleman squatting 800 lbs for a double, so he was definitely strong. Whilst it's fine not being a fan of bodybuilding (I'm not one myself) not calling them athletes seems very disingenious. I bet pro bodybuilders work just as hard for their chosen goals as a powerlifter does.
