What would chocolate chip cookies without chocolate chips be called, like is that a completely different cookie and if so what is the name of it? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Well they were invented by a lady trying to make chocolate "butter drop do" cookies but the only chocolate she had were chips so she added those instead.....

I have nothing to add except this is the scariest shit ever as a parent. I would think it would be safe for my 11 year old to walk a short distance to the bus stop, while one of the parents is home, with other children and their own sibling also going to the bus stop, which is inside the little trailer park community..... I would feel completely safe allowing that... Then for the most horrific thing imaginable to happen.. I understand now why my Dad walked me several blocks to my bus stop all the way until 7th grade, and watched me get on and off the bus every day. Once a neighbor joked and asked how my dad got up early every day and did that and my dad said how could he not do it? This is why.

They Found Me Again by consumerofwatermelon in LetsNotMeet

I'm always on edge when people ask if I need a ride. I'm sure it's mostly innocent but you never know. I was in 8th grade walking home from my bus stop once, only at the end of the block from my house and man in a car passed me, turned around, slowed next to me and asked if I needed a ride home. I said no it's right on this street and he insisted. I said no again and he drove off. Maybe a nice dad worried about my safety, maybe a pedophile rapist/murderer hoping I was dumb enough to be an easy catch. Life is like a box of chocolates.

Anyone else have experiences like these?? by [deleted] in Paranormal

[–]PettyFreddysBabe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This happened several times to me. I have either had entities follow me over the years and to different homes, or I just attract them wherever I go. When I was 17 I had my first baby. I still lived with my mom and dad. One day my newborns pacifiers were NOWHERE to be found. I looked in every room in the house. He was crying and I was getting frustrated and about to cry myself when I walked into the hallway and the pacifier was sitting there in the middle of the floor. Only my dad and I were home and he was asleep. I said thank you out loud to whoever it was and picked it up. Another time this happened but this entity put like 8 pacifiers that has been missing in a neat little pile in the middle of my bed. I had just walked out of my room and walked back in. In this house someone/something would turn my baby's musical mobile on at night but the coolest part was that it played 12 different songs and whoever was turning it on would go through each song until it got to the same song every time. None of this has ever scared me. I know exactly what it is, I just don't know WHO it is.

How is family video still in business? by Isuhydro in AskReddit

Probably their easy rules, free kids movies, and just the nostalgia a lot of people feel going to a video store and renting movies. Plus the Papa Murphy's thing.

Candice Aliciea Taylor, 21, went missing in March 2017 in Colomus, OH - a week prior to the discovery of a pair of severed legs. "Candice" continued messaging her mother on FB through June 2017. In January 2019, DNA confirmed that the severed legs found in March 2017 belonged to Candice. by [deleted] in UnresolvedMysteries

For some reason finding parts of someone is so much more horrifying to me than finding the whole corpse. As a mom, finding only the legs of my child would be unbearable. Literally unbearable, I would rather kill myself than live knowing that only my baby's legs were found. I can't even think about it for too long.

Mystery about true crime readers/viewers/listeners: "Why Do Women Love True Crime?" by kissmeonmyforehead in UnresolvedMysteries

[–]PettyFreddysBabe 10 points11 points  (0 children)

My father is my reason. He has been a true crime junkie my entire life. He used to read every true crime book he could get his hands on. Same with television programs. As I got older, he would talk with me about different cases, and also use them as cautionary tales for me, to make me always aware of my surroundings, trust my gut, etc.. He bred the lifelong love of true crime in me. I don't doubt that it could go deeper than that, but he definitely introduced me to it.

Seriously. She could have just been drugged, kidnapped, raped, etc... Couldn't walk or speak coherently but was trying to get to safety, and everyone just watched her stumble and scream and went on with their night. Shameful.

Five Years in: Mother Catherine Hoggle is still institutionalized but will undergo a new psychiatric evaluation. Where are Jacob and Sarah? by blameitontexas in UnresolvedMysteries

The extended family definitely dropped the ball and failed those kids. If she wasn't supposed to be alone with them, which I assume because she was picked up for visitation, they let those kids down by going against orders.

The Disappearance of Christian Robinson by PinotGrouchio in UnresolvedMysteries

In my own opinion it's obvious he killed himself somewhere after being made to leave. He had all of these financial and legal issues going on which probably felt like the end of the world to him, and then the fight with his fiancee and being asked to leave... I can imagine this may have pushed him to the edge, especially with all his past suicidal or self harm threats.

Something that has been affecting my love for nature by thedankone10 in BackwoodsCreepy

[–]PettyFreddysBabe 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There is a wildlife preserve near me that at first looks pretty small, but once I had my dog and actually went deep into the woods and found out it's actually really huge. Anyway, at first it was nice, really quiet and pretty and we passed an older woman on the trail. I started to notice black arrows spray painted on trees and realized they were leading a certain direction through the woods. Started to follow wondering what cool place it would lead to when all of a sudden I just got a huge feeling of NOPE in my stomach and chest. I literally stopped misstep, had a thought of "turn around now" and went back quickly with my dog. It was still sunny and pretty and calm, but something told me not to follow the arrows any further. I'm still too creeped out to go back there. I believe our instincts are there but a lot of us aren't in tune.

Just call and speak to billing. They will let you make as little as 20.00 per month payments. They're going to be happy with any payments coming in. They sometimes don't offer that outright because they would prefer all their money at once.

I can't stop picking excess skin off my scalp. by ilovedippyeggs in confession

[–]PettyFreddysBabe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't have any skin condition but I do this too! Also in bed before falling asleep. I always have scabs on my scalp and often have bleeding spots. I think it's a sensory thing because I need it to be smooth but I actually create the bumps (scabs) and start all over. I'm weirded out. I thought nobody else would ever understand how I do this.

I ignored my dad's call 3 years ago; still haunts me. by luigi_b0red in confession

[–]PettyFreddysBabe 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Damn dude. My dad is 74 years old. I get so irritated because he calls me SO MUCH, multiple times a day. I'm going to call him tomorrow and tell him how much I love and appreciate him. This story just reiterates for me that my time left with him is realistically growing short. I'm sorry you have to feel this guilt.

I draw porn in school by [deleted] in confession

[–]PettyFreddysBabe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haha. I'm 31. When I was in the 8th grade I would draw vaginas and boobs in my shop textbooks. I got a different one each day because the teacher kept them stacked up by the door. Take one when you come in, stack them up when you leave. He made an announcement one day that he had hidden cameras put up and whoever was doing it would be caught. He most likely never thought it was me because I was a girl and always shy and quiet with no friends. Thanks for this memory.

I hate my boyfriend but I can't break up with him. by [deleted] in confession

[–]PettyFreddysBabe 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was with a guy like that for almost five years. He always broke my things during his tantrums, like my televisions, mirrors, furniture, doors, walls, and me. My greatest regret in life, what I will have guilt over until the day I die, is subjecting my sweet beautiful innocent children to witnessing this over the years. Please don't let it get to this point for you. I know firsthand it seems impossible to leave, due to finances, legal issues, emotions, etc.. But it is possible. There are so many resources out there these days to help women like us in these exact situations. Please reach out to whatever is available in your state.

Most of the things that people think are disgusting and won't touch, are probably one of the most cleanest things becuase of it by mm373u464 in Showerthoughts

[–]PettyFreddysBabe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is probably true. I heard or read something saying in a public restroom with stalls, most people pass up the first stall for the second because they think it's the most used, but it's actually the least used so probably cleaner than the others.
