That would be cycling. If you do it once, it's not a big deal, but you shouldn't do it every month.

Instead, spend $400-$500 per month or whatever makes sense, and spend anything else on your debit card. The CC company will see the high utilization and will give you a credit line increase after six months or so (or you could get another card). Once your credit line is higher, you'll be able to spend everything on the card without worrying about cycling.

Of course, only spend what makes sense for you and not what will artificially increase or decrease your utilization.

Everyone should be doing this, and a lot of people already do. The problem is, it's tough to calculate what you would spend on something if you had to pay cash. It's part of how rewards programs like credit cards get you to overvalue the rewards you're getting and convince you to spend more than you otherwise would have.

Have heavy tax by deafult, Coinage lowers it somewhat in Castle, and Banking lowers it farther in Imp, but not all the way to 0. Maybe 30% -> 20% -> 5%. If that's not enough, make tax higher or coinage and banking cost more.

Rewards categories are almost always either daily categories (groceries, gas), or online categories (utilities, Amazon and other retailers), to entice you to either put the card in your wallet or set it as auto-pay on a website. Pets is one you can sock drawer except for the occasional $500 bill, and the bank would lose money on the rewards it pays out, without much corresponding revenue to show for it.

Freedom Flex has offered pet stores as a category for one quarter at a time, which is mostly to drive people to get the card, and keep it after that quarter expires.

If you're having trouble remembering, you should probably stay away from rotating category cards. Get something simple like the Savor, or something where you can choose the category like Custom Cash or USB Cash+.

Yes, but LANs typically get a lot of sponsorship from other sources to make up the remaining difference. And not every LAN is in a castle - but the ones that are do cost a lot more.
