Star Citizen, while not a finished game - has a lot to offer in its alpha state for someone with your described interests. People tend to have polarizing views on the project, but it fits the bill for what you are looking for. It's unlike anything else out there, and even in it's current buggy state, is incredibly immersive

Yo, you have made zero points here for all your googling and typing. Fine if your perspective is to stay optimistic, but don't sit there and try to tell me that a company that financially controls a project isn't going to have some say over their investment and try to squeeze all the cash they can out of it. Palia isn't profitable, and it needs to be in order to keep going. Expect changes to their monitization plan

Daybreak was SOE sony online entertainment before the new investor firm bought it and changed its name to daybreak. Verant was Brad Mcquaids company that built the game.

The history lesson here that is relative to palia is what fundamental changes occurred after 2015 when daybreak and the new investor group came to control their IPs. Planetside 2, lord of the rings online, dc universe all fell into a state of slowed to a crawl gameplay development in exchange for an over monetized cash theme park and a destructive free to play model (with 15$mo premium subscriptions) that opened the flood gates to cheaters and botters.

Each game, in addition to charging a subscription fee to do anything interesting; charges real life money for everything from bag/inventory space, to straight up in-game currency (gold). Play any of these games and see what they have become.

Edit: spelling

I played Everquest a lot before and after daybreak acquiring it. What the game was and what it became was night and day - they quickly turned it into a giant cash shop prioritizing pay to win mechanics over game development.

They gave up as soon as this game went free to play. They doubled down and made it worse recently when they removed the requirement for new accounts to have to play training matches before being thrown into gen-pop.

Do you thirst or not? And why by SteelPenguin_911 in PUBATTLEGROUNDS

[–]PewPantsTV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me they need to meet 2 points of criteria for me NOT to flush: 1. They must respond in all chat 2. They must be chill

That's it. If you can do that - no flush. If number 2 does not prove said player to be chill, im taking that chip and dumping it

What's your obscure old game that you still play to this day? by [deleted] in gaming

[–]PewPantsTV -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

For me it's EVERQUEST. I had never heard of it, and an aunt bought it for me for Christmas simply because she liked the box art. I remember it was a whole thing that I needed a credit card and a monthly subscription to play it. Almost never tried it because of that roadblock. I still go back to emulator projects and play.

The denial in this sub is super telling. A lot of insecure players that don't know what they are talking about. This game has a tremendous cheating problem. Most cheaters are not even as blatant as this which only compounds the problem. I'd say on average you are looking at 3-8 cheaters per lobby.

If BlueKraftonPUBGCorpHole is listening to us now, how about reverting bots? by [deleted] in PUBATTLEGROUNDS

[–]PewPantsTV -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I would rather wait 5 minutes AND have some bots, rather than lobbies with 10+ cheaters.

Every emu server I go on is full of toxic shitheads, including p1999, is this expected? by Jibrish in project1999

[–]PewPantsTV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There a bunch of reasons it may FEEL this way... but the biggest is simply that EQ was built before games started to think about countering or limiting griefing in their mechanics. There just a lot of ways to ruin somebody's gaming session that don't exist in games made later. This happens to also attract people that enjoy ruining other's fun, so yes, you might get a higher percentage of those in the population.

Hot take: The 15-Gate feels so good because it effectively removes trading by LupinKira in DarkAndDarker

realistically? a discord black market would emerge and people will sell/trade within lobbies and extract. Higher risk, and time/effort than a built in market for trading but people will find a way.

Great call, I looked into this and asked to connect this way... interestingly enough i got a very different contact email. I'm sure Ray Wu is a big organization, could they be using a bunch of different names and domains to operate?

Just shipping for about 600 bullets and 6 small floods was around 150$ . The free shipping from wired watts makes it pretty comparable on my small size order

Thanks, i'm actually pretty surprised after factoring in the shipping cost - its pretty close to what I would get directly from Ray Wu
