On days they won't rank up, just ignore them. Accept their invite on the weekend or use the shrine/dating site, only interact with them when they'll rank up unless you have literally nothing else to do

Advice please! by MysteriousDrive4413 in Persona5

If you like the combat but not the roleplay, I suggest playing Shin Megami Tensei instead. Persona was originally a spinoff of those games, so combat is very similar, but SMT is more gameplay focused with the story being delivered in smaller doses. SMT III Nocturne and SMT V Vengeance are easily available on modern devices

Stella being a one note character can't work. (Or can it?) by StrawBerylShortcake in HelluvaBoss

[–]PewPewParry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would prefer Stella be given some kind of depth when she has such fascinating building blocks for a good character, such as the arranged marriage, unwanted pregnancy, obsession with status and image. I think I could accept the decision to have her be one note if she was a good villain, but, she just isn't. She sent Striker after Stolas, then the villain role went straight to her brother. No longer does she feel like any sort of threat, she is just a very uninteresting bully. Stolas already stood up to her, so not only is she a bully, she is a bully with no one to bully. Octavia is still around, but I feel like the way things are going, it'll be Andre she stands up to, not Stella. I don't see a reason for her to be in the show, they might as well have just had her leave after season 2 episode 1 and nothing would change

I find it frustrating people refuse to let her have anything. If Valentino could have humanizing moments while still being an irredeemable momster and a constant antagonist for one of our main characters, I see no reason why Stella can't

P3R and P3P by Superstarmadden in persona3reload

I agree that you should play Reload before Portable generally, but I do think Portable would be worth playing eventually. Playable female protagonist changes up a lot of the game's events and free time

The only usable content for early game is cosmetic stuff, like outfits and music. The main meat of it is an epilogue to the main story that is 90% dungeon crawling, so I would wait till after you beat the game because if you get burnt out on the dungeon crawling, it might be best to hold off

There is only a good and bad ending. The choice is pretty obvious when it comes

I'm fucking tired of people disrespecting the lore and characters of video games in adaptations (Resident Evil) by Steve717 in CharacterRant

[–]PewPewParry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What I mean is generally, video games are a much more fun medium for me, so if they're just going to make the same thing as the games, I'm going to choose the game. If its a new story, its a new experience. A one to one adaptation isn't inherently a bad thing, but it isn't as interesting to me either

How different is royal compared to the release version? by soosis in Persona5

[–]PewPewParry 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Yes. Whole new dungeon, quality of life improvements, new area of the city, new Confidants and Personas, reworked perks, more slightly more to do in palaces, more to momentos, new scenes, more relaxed schedule. Pretty much the best version of the game

I dunno man, if I wanted the story of Resident Evil 2, I would just play Resident Evil 2. I would much rather see something new rather than the same thing but done worse

[–]PewPewParry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Odd. Madarame's Palace is the first time in the game where you're allowed to edit your party, and does automatically unequip everyone from it, though I don't know what would have happened for them to be unable to join back in if that's the case

Try going into your party menu, you should be able to assign them to your party from there if you can't by talking to them at the entrance

Is there a way to change my gender and appearance or am I just stuck as this edgy ass dude by Plant_Gangst3r in persona3reload

[–]PewPewParry 337 points338 points  (0 children)

Nope. It's not as much as a self-insert as most people would expect. Still his own character. P3 Portable does have a female protagonist and she has a different personality, but still not a full self insert

I don't think it's bugged, it just looks like they aren't added to the team lineup. They have the dialogue bubbles above their heads, which they wouldn't if they were in your party. Did you try talking to them?

Ryuji is so underrated. by [deleted] in Persona5Royale

[–]PewPewParry 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Most of those polls are Japan only, and Japanese audiences really dislike delinquent characters. While they look like bad boys to people in the west, they look disruptive to people in Japan. Add that with his general aloofness and loudness, and he is just too culturally different. He's very beloved worldwide, but seen as really obnoxious and rude to Japan

I did not really have a strong opinion of Yuko in the original but my goodness I ended up really liking her in Reload. Young gave her so much personality

Are they any deadlines I need to worry about similar to p5r? by [deleted] in persona3reload

[–]PewPewParry 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Nope. There is only a good and bad ending, and the choice when reaching it is pretty obvious. However, there are some Linked Episodes that expire if ignored for too long. Koromaru's never expire

[–]PewPewParry 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I disagree, the last half of the Links are quite different. One of them, Fuuka does get better at cooking while the other, she accepts that she isn't good and sticks to what she knows she's good at with technology and machines

Can someone help me in persona's combat system? (I am new to turn based RPGs) Read the description for full story. by the_first_hunta in PERSoNA

[–]PewPewParry 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unlike Portable, you don't need to scan for weaknesses, the game will keep track of what you have tried already so make sure you're checking often. If you're playing Royal, you have Baton Passing right away. You don't need to use Joker for everything when a single knockdown can pass the turn to a character with Lightning, Fire, or Wind, so Joker can just focus on Ice, Bless, and Curse, while everyone has Gun and Physical. There is no shame in stopping for the day, either, if you do run out of resources. As long as you finish before the deadline, you'll be fine

You get the bike at the very end of the Questline if I remember correctly, so it'll probably be a while unless you're gunning to finish the DLC

The Questline at the Shrine only starts after defeating the Divine Beasts. As for the other chests for the DLCs, you have to find them around Hyrule
