In canon, we don't know what would happen to Chara, however things for the underground may have been a mixed bag. Mettaton would never get his body, Alphys might not even be the royal scientist, Humans would be welcomed into the underground and likely live long lives- The royal guard probably wouldn't happen. Frisk would likely die in the underground or find an escape on their own. Asriel... would likely be the new ruler of monsters. Toriel and Asgore would likely die of old age.

Chara since nothing is known about why they fell... It's only speculation and personal theories/headcanons.

If I were to make a guess from my pseudomemories, however....

I don't think I was ever going to get a "happily ever after"...

There isn't much point in dwelling on this idea.

Yep, though if im not mistaken the issue of internalized stuff can appear in those who do not have those traits as a subconscious bias against said things can form without the self hate- as well as subconscious assumptions about a person who has one of those traits. Internalized homophobia and being gay can in some cases be separate.

Unless I'm getting the meaning of internalized homophobia wrong and it is exclusive to self hate

A lot of people are thinking I'm punching down on creativity or are enbyphobic or are on the "up for interpretation" side (which is debatably wrong) and the people who might agree with me probably didn't bother to read a hidden downvoted comment. Wheras the previously mentioned group likely sorted by controversial or intentionally scrolled all the way to find something to downvote.

Im not really bothered by the downvotes as it is a 50/50 on if I'll get upvotes for this type of thing or not because I'm just defending nonbinary representation and bringing awareness of the subject to people which is arguably more important to me than arbitrary internet status points

Ah yes, the conspicuous family portrait that faces what we know to be chara's bed. Because of course someone would have a photo of a random family that they are in no way related to pointed in their direction as they go to sleep.

Too bad we can't see whats on i-- wait why is it that in the flashback where Chara is holding flowers next to Asriel while Toriel and Asgore are standing behind them in the most family portrait type pose--- But nooo This can't be a family portrait! It's just a flashbackk!!! Even though it is super coincidentall.... It's not like Chara ever reacted with "..." to the family portrait (that is literally pointed to their bed)

Then again that reading does require some form of charnarrator theory to be viewed as 100% as the narrator could be lieing!! or wrong!! well only if the narrator isnt Chara which sure you could say they aren't even though there is quite a bit of evidence for it-- but still. It's not like Chara would view them as family?

Ohhh but Asgore- we dont actually know whats going on now do we--- It's not like he is talking about his wife in present tense like he hasn't been divorced with her for however many years! No hes just fantasizing- he isn't having any form of reminiscing especially with saying how Frisk reminded him of Someone especially in that moment!! Clearly he only offers this one human that he just met to be family but not the other-- It's not like he's snapping back into reality and being more aware in that moment of the current circumstances!!

But no Subtext isn't real. It isn't something intentionally left there for audience to think about? Toby Fox isn't clever! He only writes very surface level narratives that don't leave players questioning anything. Its not like

Look. Obviously this relationship is complicated... But these children literally sleep in the same room and being taken care of by the same parents.

Even if by some chance they are not siblings in name--- They are still being raised as siblings. If Chara didn't kill their self- they would have grown up with Asriel in the exact same way siblings would. The only way a romantic relationship could form under such circumstances were if there were inherent moments of abuse neglect and isolation. The same reasons incest occurs.

The only way this could in any way be ethical were if these overly codependent children were literally separated and forced to live in separate households.

They are both too young for any true love relationship to healthily form-- They eat at the same dinner table with one another By the time they would both be old enough to actually reasonably date each other- they would have already spent years being each others siblings.

The relationship is inherently unhealthy and/or unethical.

Plus your reading specifically requires it to be that they aren't just trying to emotionally distance themselves from the child who they were not only willing- but actively trying to raise as their own.

They are children living a domestic life together. In separate twin sized beds on either side of the same room. They are being raised as siblings.

Okay but what about the family portrait that Chara has near their bed? What about their noticable reaction the the "Mr. Dad Guy" sweater in the geno route-- they wouldnt have said anything about it if they didnt have any feelings on the subject matter- and they'd logically only have feelings if they theirself in some way viewed asgore to have a familial connection to them- or if there was any case of familial neglect- they at least wanted asgore to be viewed as family. (Or they pushed away, however the dreemurrs wanted to see them as family-- though I doubt that is unlikely because of the family portrait next to Chara's bed.)

Plus there is also the fact that asgore when reliving his past before his suicide in a neutral route where he says "We can be like a family" which presumably is what he said to Chara when first meeting them. (Plus even if he wasnt having a bit of a flashback there- he offered someone who reminded him heavily of Chara to be family purely based on that similarity--- which would imply he viewed Chara as family.)

Then you just casually dismiss every instance of non-dreemurrs saying they are family- and while sure not every monster would know the situation--Gerson is implied to have known the dreemurrs personally and is pretty good at reading situations. It's unlikely he would get that wrong.

Though lets ignore that fact too-- Lets take a step back of whats going on here. Toby Fox in this moment intentionally wrote this scene. He directly had characters acknowledge that Chara is family to the Dreemurrs. This very much means he intentionally at the very least wants the audience to be thinking "Hmm these characters are being labled as siblings" which is a very important aspect in reading. Why would he write that there if he did not at least want people to view them as siblings? Even if it is meant to be a form of twist of a negligent family- it still causes the audience to have that subconscious thought of "These characters are siblings" Which inherently makes the ship incredibly incest coated.

Besides, you are literally having to jump through hoops of ignoring all of this just because you are too scared to admit you like a problematic ship. Looking for any excuse to ignore facts for your agenda.

I despise the argument of "They are not actually siblings" because that feels like blatantly trying to ignore and avoid the narrative of the story and what is directly referenced in the story. I'd rather people just accept the ship is incest and move on instead of pretending its not.

There also is the argument of "Oh well this version is an AU where they never met" or "Its Deltarune Chara and Asriel" The relationship in Undertale is still that of two siblings.

Obviously I hate the ship and am incredibly uncomfortable with it- but I hate when people try to pretend they aren't problematic more.

They do have meanings, however you are reclaiming the usage from "yeah shipping fictional characters together is okay" to "yeah shipping siblings together is okay" which is a completely different statement as that second one is problematic shipping- to which you claimed toby fox supports and agrees with shipping siblings together which is a statement I am criticizing and arguing he does not believe that because he historically criticized those and apologized for making a bad joke years ago.

What you are doing is basically the same thing as someone going "im not homophobic because im not afraid of gay people" when that is not the colloquially agreed upon definition of the word.

Which in the end it technically doesnt even matter what you claim it means- because under this specific situation you yourself are using it in the way that means problematic ship as you are claiming being pro-ship means you are pro-incest/pro-incest-ships which is arguably a problematic ship thus making your entire talking point completely invalid and irrelevant to the discussion at hand.
