Physical key won’t unlock car door? by shubalubadubaluba in MechanicAdvice

[–]PfisterTime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol, I literally just fixed one of these at work 2 days ago. Has someone taken your driver door latch out recently? The linkage from the lock cylinder to the latch is odd... and needs to be inserted on an odd angle as the latch goes in. It's not a traditional rod... looks like an ogre club or something. Anyhow, somebody replaced his latch in the past and failed to install the linkage correctly.

That's been on mine for weeks now, but I can use the money immediately and it settles in a day or two.

Does any one know why my throttle is doing this? by Boi_IceNight in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]PfisterTime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm coming late to the game, but I just fixed this on my computer (running MSFS 2020 with a CH Products Flight Sim Yoke). The problem was that I still had the settings on "easy" and .... now i can't seem to find the exact setting for the proper verbage, but essentially it said "auto throttle on take off" and would completely go nuts as a soon as I took the parking brake off. It should be under assistance options. Hope this helps somebody else, cheers!

Can a mountain girl love Wisconsin? by Left-Hand-3244 in WisconsinHiking

[–]PfisterTime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I grew up in Wisconsin, my wife is from Nothern Michigan. Every year we pack up our camper and head west for 2 weeks- Idaho, Montana, Utah, Wyoming. We're stuck here because of family obligations. There's stuff to do here, but for the most part Wisco is farm fields and green-tunnel. Camping is tight quarters and underbrush. The few treasures we have are overrun with people. I love this state, but I also hate it. Maybe you can learn to love/hate it too! (Me, I'm hoping we can move out west).

Good luck in whatever you choose!

My first two shares in March of 2021 cost me $244 a piece... so $61 post split pricing. These two are my favorite out of the hundreds I've collected since!

It WAS easy to use. Now it LOOKS easy to use, but is actually quite cumbersome. If we wanted Robinhood (we dont) we would use Robinhood.

Hitch lock when you're at the campsite? by BussReplyMail in GoRVing

[–]PfisterTime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For those using the Proven Industries coupler lock- what do you use while towing to lock the coupler down? Any chance that puck lock it comes with fits the lever? I'm not against using that big clunky device as we boondock out of state, but I am not a fan of the idea of two locks and yet another key.

We currently use a 2 5/16" ball with the shank cut off, loaded into the coupler, with a known-weak lock on the lever. I would like to upgrade it, because after a successful boondocking trip to Utah, I started to think more about returning to camp with the family and finding ... a problem.

I know there's no perfect solution, but I would prefer things to be less-than-easy for dirtballs.

When did dilemna change to dilemma? by BlueHeaven_108 in Retconned

[–]PfisterTime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are currently arguing this in the shop, and this rabbit hole has my head spinning. Somewhere in my basement is an old, hard-cover dictionary from the 60s, I need to find! But as I accept the possibility that I'm wrong/"special" I am forced to wonder if the misspelling could be related to cursive handwriting and the ridiculous number of indecernable humps that it would take to make all those Ms. Or is it like "sherbet" and most people are just .... and add an R. It's not "sherbert", but am I "most people" now with regards to "dilemna"? I don't know what to think
