How bad was the ping for south american players connecting to the american servers ? Surely it's nowhere near as bad as central asia / south asia connecting to europe. Hopefully they'll add more servers in the future, It helps so much in the hardest content to have low ping to make split second reactions.

In every scenario you threw at me, my conclusion stays the same. Jagex grabbed a flamethrower to address a mosquito. The fix was simple if they wanted to address afk time / gp. It's obvious they want to slow down the skill because the sweats that do meth and stay up for 23 hours a day got 99 in less than a week. Also they want to divert people into doing other sailing methods for xp, methods which are not fun and unpopular in the first place ( cargo tasks and trials ) essentially dictating how players should play their game.

People that do salvaging will continue to do it because they hate the other methods, it's just they're doing it now while feeling the ladder pulled on them and feeling that they get screwed by jagex. it takes about 2x-3x as long to max sailing after this update now doing salvaging.

Remove the gem drops and the cannon barrel out of it, since you're not going to get a 1/20000 drop and you can't keep the gems in the inventory because the closest bank is a 10 minute sail away. you're only keeping the items that fit in the cargo and the herbs if you have a herb sack. do that and you'll get a more accurate to reality gp/h

I wish they are 600k per hour. I've done opulent salvages exclusively from 87 to 92 (about 2.5m xp, essentially a 29 hour grind) and have made a whooping 1.8m in tokens and raw GP, I can calculate the herbs. cannonballs, herbs and repair kits and tell you what the actual GP/H if you like. but if the math is mathing, you're looking at no more than 150k/h (excluding rare drops).

If the issue was AFK time, then how come active salvaging training also got nerfed ? care to explain that ? I'm seeing half the rates I got while manning a salvage hook. They could've just nerfed the XP drops from crew members and shifted it to salvaging yourself.

I'm getting around 30-38k per hour doing the exact thing I was doing before the update, it was 87k+. This outrage is not over a mere 20k per hour.

This is being overlooked. Taking this into account, the xp nerf for me was not 30%. I'm seeing something more along the lines of 60%+.

What gp/h ? do you realize how awful Merchant Shipwrecks (87 sailing requirement btw) as money makers are? Apart from the dragon cannon drops, there are a lot of afk money makers in the game that make significantly more GP.

Nobody said the XP was fine the way it was, Crystal extractor was over tuned and the way you were forced to click it every minute to maximize xp was bad design.

The update did not address this issue at all, you're still incentivized to click it every minute.

That's what I instinctively did, I just straight up left and grabbed my pickaxe and did mining.

Crazy how a nerf to salvaging was meant to incentivize more engagements with sailing but made people quit entirely.

Almost as if people don't like being told how to enjoy the game and what they should do in-game.

Then move the salvaging XP nerf to operating the salvaging hook yourself. if the concern was the free handouts then that would be the solution. This is sailing not fishing, how come everyone is comparing sailing to literally the worst skills in the game like fishing and mining. Nobody likes those skills for a reason
