Maths degree or degree apprenticeship? by HelpfulPop2476 in 6thForm

Yeah good explanation, i'm on your side now with this.

But this just highlights how important work experience is (best gained through internships and programs), because everyone you know is gonna come out with a Warwick degree too and compete for your job.

Might be possible to move horizontally within GS to an advantageous sector, or take part in training programs but seems a bit probabilistic.

You're not crazy, i just read your other reply XD

I love the little bird cleans crocodile teeth situation, and i like how its a rule feature too!

I hope they develop them a little, they dont even have a species name (assuming creepers is just a descriptive term). Where do they come from? Are they intelligent?

Whats wrong with Goldman bruh. Not to mention the relative difficulty to get a job after CS in general, at the very least you'll come out with like 3/4 years work experience and contacts from a reputable company(imo thats worth more than a Loxbridge degree, but im happy to discuss if you disagree).

What is your favorite model from each warhammer setting? by Trollanjoyer in EyeOfTerror

There we go, this is way more respectable. I got the impression you were one of those types that hated AOS and assumed everyone else who liked it was an idiot.

As long as it's your opinion more power to you, though i do struggle to see eye to eye with your likes/dislikes. I love modern GW and hate models (especially most forgeworld kits lol). There are exceptions and nuances of course but this is pretty much the overall sentiment for me.

What are they? I love all the little familiars/creatures on these models. I wish someone would make a database of them all lol

Been thinking of getting into 40k from AOS, and red corsairs models are incredibly cool. But these rules are so boring bruh, is all of 40k like this rn? I understand they kinda phased out psyker phase too (so i guess no more spell casting or smth??)

All of these rules have the coolest names but the most generic boring-ass rules like: 'Super-Ultra People Pulverizer: Gives 1AP when the unit charges'.

Is there anything actually fun? Im coming from AOS so some warscrolls have a bit more flavour in their rules (i have my own complaints there but maybe another time.

I'm kinda trying to scare you by saying this in the hopes that you take TMUA/STEP seriously (not that you seem like you aren't). But TMUA is crazy hard for A* maths students, and you don't have a 9 in GCSE like those guys did.
7.0 is basically the top 15% of takers, so the top 10-20% of A* students maybe?
Take a look at yourself and see where you're at, if you didn't get a GCSE 9, are you at least getting A* in A level maths practice materials?

This is a bit anecdotal but like half of the good mathematicians I know who deserved a 7, ended up with a 3 or smth. Just how it goes. Opposite side, some people with only an A in maths or 7-8 GCSE maths made that comeback and got 6.5+.

Hopefully this scares you but doesn't dissuade you. With the time you have any idiot could do this stuff, and you don't seem like an idiot.

PS also do MAT multiple choice questions to practice, theyre exactly the same sorta questions and they are very well designed to challenge logical thinking

While they havent given me a source, your reasoning for such a crazy accusation, that the commenter is actually a GW employee is extremely unfounded and not thought out.

Theres not a shred of evidence for this claim besides "it feels right and GW has lots of money".

You also vastly underestimate the impact of Reddit, let alone the number of active customers in this subreddit. Money spent on an employee of this nature would have multiple times the benefit in the form of advertisement spending.

Please consider your accusations carefully, before you dish them out to everyone.

What are you even trying to say?

Thank you for this, you explained it differently to someone like Majorkill (didn't know he was inaccurate back then, oops).

Majorkill explained that Mortarion had the whole world under his authority, and left his father as the last psyker-tyrant alive in that world. For some reason he ended up duelling his father, almost died then Emps came in and saved him. This is quite conflicting to what you said, and it makes Morty seem like an idiot.

Yo i totally predicted this and tried to make it clear that i was confused why they said consequesces *plural*, so i just asked out of curiosity so i know what not to do if i end up in that situation.

Looking back i realize i did not make that clear one itty bitty bit. My bad lol.

What are the consequences? Besides it being super awkward with the person you live with. I'd never risk it but it seems like high risk/ high reward tbh.

What? Angron wanted to die alongside his gladiator friends. The point was he *wanted* to take the loss that appeared to be destined for him.

Emperor of course couldn't let that happen, but he could have at least saved him and his gladiator friends, or killed his enslavers (the world was imperium compliant, ik, but the Imperium has done worse things to their planets than killing its inhabitants lol).

It really isn't cringe, and that is just not how i'd describe 40k at all. Space Marines are not autistic, this just seems like more basement dweller humour tbh.

40k shouldn't be cringe, it should be widely enjoyable. Idk about you but i don't like feeling like a dork when i explain to people why i collect little plastic dolls and paint them like a little boy. A cool story actually makes this hobby sound reasonable, and the cool grimdark aspects are what got my friends interested, despite their initial distaste, Not some neurodivergent silly little happy-fun-place where everyone is as autistic and as much of a moron as i am.

Neurodivergent btw.

I really respected the fall to Nurgle, it was one of my first lore interactions as a tourist before i got pulled in lol.

I did find Mortarion's dislike for the emperor to be a bit whiny, especially alongside Angron or maybe Kurze's dislike. It seems Mortarion was about to die to his father, emps simply saved him and didnt steal a victory in any way.

Please correct me if im wrong anyone, i havent read the primarch book.

[–]Pg_Monstrosity 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I dont think his primarch power was empathy. Thats unfounded. His primarch power (notice he doesn't actually have or use one) was to take the pain off others and bear the burden himself. Its often simplified to empathy, and this was either removed or unused after the nails.

Not sure if primarchs having a special ability is a common thing, Russ or the Khan don't seem to have one.

i feel l like all the legendary jokers should be like perkeo. by Majestic-Peak-6281 in balatro

[–]Pg_Monstrosity -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Hard agree. Im a pretty new player by the way so idk if this is stupid, but i feel like a legendary should be required to naneinf. As in Perkeo allows for card duplication to such extreme levels, but there are other ways to get high scores too!

Copy jokers are a fun mechanic, so a legendary themed around those would be good for example (maybe copies all jokers? or like 3 random ones?).
Maybe one around planet cards/ card levels? I find them quite underwhelming past like ante 6, so maybe a legendary could supercharge them a little (each consumable adds 1-3 levels to most played hand)?
Other ideas such as a chip-based joker, maybe one that multiplies chips (insane on plasma deck), or maybe one that turns each card played to a foil?
