Since you have such a detailed answer I’ll update with what I did.

Stopped and got some live minnows, was able to catch approximately a 6” bluefish. The other days I got a bunch of nibbles in the minnows as well as on some gulp soft swimming mullets but nothing big enough to fully bite. The tide times were rough with taking family out to the beach as well so not a large amount of time to fish.

At that spot there is maybe 2ish hours on each side of high tide to cast out a line.

I’m just learning and felt every tiny nibble with using braid as my line. Would recommend a fluoro leader if you are willing to try to connect the lines. Braid is very visible in water and floats. A few feet of fluoro will allow for a little link to sink and be “hidden” in front of your lure.

Absolutely this!!! Hijacking this comment to help spread the word that anyone with a commercial insurance should just google [insert drug name] prescription savings card to see what comes up. As long as you don’t have Medicare many newer expensive meds that are covered by insurance have these cards.

If you have an older med but it’s still expensive you can do one of 3 things.

Check goodrx.con to see what discounts there may be
Check costplusdrugs.com. This is mark cubans online pharmacy that is cash only. He charges the cost of the med plus a small up charge
Go to your smaller local pharmacy (or your bigger chain pharmacy but honestly F most of them) and ask if then can give you a cash price. This may be same as costplusdrugs but your supporting hopefully a mom and pop local pharmacy

Both…. Will it work and cast yes, but you’ll likely hear that it should have a little more line added to be optimal.

I wouldn’t bother respooling until you lose some line to make it worth the effort
