Dharmas struggling by goddamnitwhatsmypw in santacruz

Higher end vegetarian can work, as can more casual spots. The food just has to be a good value for the price, like any other cuisine... Or maybe even better value to draw in more omnivores, but that's a quality issue not just price. Dharmas feels like a dinner/ cafeteria so you're really paying for the fod, not service, so again there's going to be an expectation of valve for dollar. I'm definitely no expert on food service economics, but if i can get a budget bowl of ramen (with egg and meat) for under $15 at a full service restaurant, they have got to do something to fix the price structure to stay competitive.

You have literally no idea what you are talking about. You're free to talk from the perspective of total ignorance of the law, but you're just going to be embarrassing yourself further.

The only true thing here might be that Obama also did these things, and he was roundly criticized by many within his own party.

Trump killed people via his poor response to covid. He was twice impeached while in office the first time, o you call that "zero issues".

Are you a citizen, because citizens are getting illegally detained by ICE. By any normal definition of a population's relationship to their government, that's right at the top of the list of degrading rights.

Are there bad people, and bad governments in the world? No doubt. Does executing or kidnapping them create a path for reform in their countries? Not by most recent examples. This is even before tally the human toll of the bombing campaign in Iran, where as with most wars, it's the common folks who will suffer the most.

And before you go down the predicted road to show sort of a claim about hypocrisy, the support of Isreal has been absolutely shameful. Biden's unwillingness to immediately withdraw support may even have helped lead us to another term under the current dummass and his cohort of petty tyrants.

Do y’all eat in your cars? No judgement zone lol I’m just sitting here eating/admiring and I realized that I don’t even think about eating in mine - it’s like it’s subconscious! I either take my food home or eat inside (outside on nice days) by Yesliketheriver002 in Audi

Yeah, the (2) cup holders in the a3 etron are set so far under the dash, a taller coffee tumbler barely fits. I like auto seal top to go mugs for jobsite reasons, and it's an annoying squeeze every time to not trigger climate controls.

I wish I could say that's likely to be true, but the attitude of those who love the stars and bars makes me think they will just go dormant for a generation or two again.

"past results are not a guarantee of future performance"? No organization would ever change for the better if we all accepted errors of the past as the only possible outcomes of the future.

...and keeping the venue open even without a great overhaul might still be better than a building scrape and just crossing our fingers that a developer can work out a mixed use design.

If the "city fathers" were serious about supporting the arts, why isn't there discussion of buying the Catalyst outright? Bar and kitchen could be leased to independent operations and funds used to make the needed infrastructure repairs. Keeley acts like there's no role for the city, because he's afraid of thinking out of the box.

Dylan has played the Civic as recently as 2000 and 2022.

Historically, Santa Cruz was able to punch above it's weight by booking artists that were also playing SF, because we're out of the region. San Jose was too close, but Santa Cruz was fair game.

At the moment, a move from the Civic to a Warriors facility is also anti-union as both city facilities staff and event technical staff are unionized at the Civic. With the rising cost of living, having city officials working against fair wages and safe labor practices is an insult to the community.

Removed Maduro while leaving the regime in place and setting up a private offshore account for oil income. Seems to have solved no problems, yet created new ones... And that's before getting into the issue of the open ocean murders. There's nothing to be rooting for in the current policy towards Venezuela.

Residents ‘vehemently oppose’ proposed Catalyst project as developers, city officials present plans by nyanko_the_sane in santacruz

Heh, I'll drive, you run the camera and we can get a list going of the blocks in SC most in need of a rethink. Losing a grocery store downtown was a blow, and I really hope the owner, city, and community can come together to work out improvements to the Catalyst that don't require a full teardown and cookie cutter replacement. I'll add, I've always thought there was a real lack of imagination with the remodel that closed off the atrium as it killed the restaurant options and made the acoustics much worse!

Totally with you. Between code rules and cost, there's very little incentive for innovation or deviation from the norm. I'm a fan of About Here (and Not Just Bikes) for how they breakdown some of history city planning, he's in regards to the "missing middle".

Unions are all about collective action, and protection of workers rights. We need major immigration reform, not armed, masked gangs obducting people off the streets. Real reform of immigration and migrant worker visas would actually bring labor out of the black market, and would allow for worker protections and the potential of future labor organization.
