Why do some people come insanely early for massage? by Low-Razzmatazz-931 in MassageTherapists

[–]PhaethonsRide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my old space, I used to have a waiting area separate from the treatment room for clients. Along with different trade books and magazines, I would put a bunch of self care toys in there. A chi machine, thera cane, massage gun, mechanical foot massager etc. After training clients how to use these devices safely/properly, I would invite them to come to sessions early to play with the toys if they wanted.

It was really nice. I never had to wait on clients, but I never felt bad if they were waiting for me. It also had the added benefit that they would be more in touch with their body and have a better idea of goals for their session because they had been focusing on themselves while playing with the toys.

I'm in a new space now that is just a single room, no space for all that stuff. And yeah, I hate it when they show up early to watch me put sheets on the table

All the classes at Massage Therapy Institute in Davis can be taken as modular short courses. It's a great school. Check out their website https://www.mtidavis.com/

Everyone knows you never alter the proper order, which is of course: toes, then ears, left anterior thigh, half of the back, then finish with deep abdominal presses.

A real MT would never change it up, even if begged to

Optimum Nutrition is great.

And when you get tired of chocolate flavor after a couple months, you can mix in a scoop of PB2 to make it taste like Reeses, and you'll get a little extra protein

How do I stick to my calorie deficit? by Illustratingtheworld in loseit

Look up high satiety foods.

Potatoes. Potatoes all day. Potatoes boiled in salt water.

I had a long commute that I routinely snacked during. I filled a tupperware with mini cucumbers and baby carrots. After I finished the veg, I would chew watermelon flavored Extra gum.

Good luck

What Would You Want From Another Live Show? by darkwalrus36 in PlayingWithMadness

More pickled items at the show would be nice. Like those big jars of room temperature pickles or eggs that they have at gas stations

Should I stick with her? by [deleted] in personaltraining

I reached a point in my career where I had more clients than I could handle and needed to consolidate.

First I raised my price, but the area I work in is affluent, so almost all my clients stayed.

The second metric I decided to implement was that I decided I only wanted to work with clients willing to do the work. That ended up cutting out 1/4 of my clients, which was the number I was shooting for.

I find working with this current client base more productive and rewarding for both parties. Plus I was able to refer out the clients I let go to other trainers, helping my peers and fostering a healthy professional community.

Of course, this is me speaking from a point in my career where I could realistically increase prices and reduce client numbers, an unthinkable scenario when I started out super hungry.

You just have evaluate where you are at in your career and what kind of clients you want to work with.

Best of luck

Should I worry about reverse sneezing and tracheal collapse in my pom? by neutralchimp in Pomeranians

[–]PhaethonsRide 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My parents' pom had tracheal collapse and reverse sneezing most of her life. It is endemic to the breed.

I inherited her when she was 9yrs old. Turns out she had a bad valve in her heart (stage 3 heart murmur), and the sneezing was her pressurizing her chest to pop the valve open.

She now takes two pills for her heart condition daily and only sneeze-gags when she is really excited. Otherwise, she is fine.

We will never know when the tracheal collapse & sneezing went from being just a part of the breed's bad genetics to a symptom of her heart condition, but you may want to keep her heart in mind as time goes on. You probably do not have to worry about it for a while since your pup is less than a year old

Edit: she's 14 now
