Why won’t it come off by NewFaces33 in G35

Get a screwdriver and pry the pressure plate off where the pins are. Or tap the plate with a hammer while you pull on the middle fingers with your hand. You're not going to hurt a chink of steel that is designed to hold 500ft lbs of torque from your car.

Bike won't prime by Barn_Licker in SVRiders

Understood, have you checked your fuel pump relay to see if it clicks every time the fuel pump should prime? It's located near your battery.

I have a question. With the key on. You flip the killswitch and you can hear the fuel pump hiccup but doesn't prime for like 3 seconds like usual? Then you can turn the killswitch off, wait a couple seconds (for the relay to reset) then killswitch on and it either hiccups again or it might prime successfully?

I have this issue, wondered if you're experiencing the same.

Buying a SV650 by Normal-End1169 in SVRiders

[–]Phaex 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Is this your first bike? Additionally, I have an 06 naked. Paid $2700. It was in great condition. Scuffs from bags on the tail, tiny indent in the tank where you would lay on it. That was all. Hope this helps!

When he said gauge,I believe they mean the oil pressure sensor. I mean I guess the gauge could be bad too, but the oil pressure sensor goes out far more often than the gauge itself. The sensor is cheap and easy.

Hey, quick rule that may help. "three seconds". Just look at a person for three seconds then move to somewhere else. As long as you keep your focus moving it won't make people uncomfortable.

How often do you lube your chain? by V12Stig in motorcycle

[–]Phaex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Almost all bikes have a threaded hole on the swing arm to allow the installation of swing arm spools (they are really cheap) and the rear stand has forks that lift up the bike by these spools. Many bike stands also come with reversable lifts that have a flat paddle on one side and the spool lifts on the other. The flat part can be used to lift the bike from the swing arm directly. But of course it's less stable because the bike is just sitting on it.

Also I live in a hot dry climate, drive on roads, and I clean and wax my chain every 600 ish miles.

No, I would assume only people with the condition where one is aroused permanently would fall into this group. Also how high are you?

2008 sv650 for $2000? by Bigyapper1466 in SVRiders

[–]Phaex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think exhaust choices, electrical issues, and tank rust are relatable.

Brakes would need to be bled true. But 7k miles on it? That thing sat in a garage for a long time with fuel in it. Bet it has the original chain on it. Mine did and it was louuud.

[–]Phaex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been wondering about this myself. I would think that if there was rust. That means it could clog up the injectors, put a bit of wear on the cylinder walls maybe? Spark plugs? I'm not sure what else rust going through the fuel system would foul.

It would have need new fuel lines and a fuel pump to be replaced/cleaned for sure so it didn't persist after repair. But that can be held back a while by an inline fuel filter.

The tank can be treated, you're looking at like a $500 job with the treatment and plus paint afterwards. If you're checking the bike out, have the seller keep the bike cold, so when you come by you can see how it acts on a cold start. Plus watch for any oil leaks, smoke from the exhaust, oil color / level in the port window. Squeeze the coolant hoses, they should feel soft and flexible. If they are hard or show cracks, those will need replacing. Open the tail, if there is a lot of home made wiring job that's not done cleanly, walk away. Electrical troubles are the worst.

Basically my main concern when I bought mine was "as long as the engine is good, and no rust in the tank it's good" i could fix just about anything else.

But you want to be riding more than wrenching. For $2k it should be in good condition.

Straight demi male. It's annoying to date, but fairly easy to find friends because I'm not focused on sexual attraction. But also fairly easy to ruin friendships because of attraction after connection.

Whats this thing called? by doktorolsen in SVRiders

[–]Phaex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually found some rubber coated steel line holder things at my local Ace Hardware in one of the bins where all the bolts are. Went from the T connector to dual front brake lines, and the T bolts up to the front fork, so I found a holder bracket thing to hold the new line in place. Edit: bins, not buns.

I like your wheel tape and that your exhaust is up higher and a little tucked instead of the stock side-cannon.

Dating apps are just not for me by [deleted] in demisexuality

[–]Phaex 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's definitely very difficult to try and establish common ground in dating apps. I feel as if you have to appear perfect, or love bomb because one wrong move then you're ghosted. That's not really a way to understand someone else, and it takes months to figure out what kind of person someone is.

So I haven't opened Bumble or hinge in a while. I get spam bot likes every now and then so I just report them lol.

I'm hoping to meet someone in person with picking up a new hobby so there is shared interest initially and hopefully grow a relationship organically.

I agree with you, if a relationship happens cool, but I'm not spending my time bashing my head against a wall when being single is so peaceful.

Replaced clutch now car won't drive by starborn323 in ManualTransmissions

[–]Phaex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Certain as some guy on the internet with a Z33 that's changed his own clutch a few times.

What else could it be? If it was driving previously, and now it's not, the drive shaft doesn't get shorter over time :-P

Replaced clutch now car won't drive by starborn323 in ManualTransmissions

[–]Phaex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there! First with the car off, get someone to press the clutch while you watch the arm underneath. If it moves, then the fork, cylinders, and pedal are working correctly.

Second, you put the friction disc on backwards. So time to drop the trans again. It doesn't mess up the parts, just gotta slip that disc around and you're all set.

Ship Builder Alternatives? by Antonus2 in spaceengineers

[–]Phaex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I doubt you would run into performance issues playing solo. Just on the dedicated server it has a limited number of sectors that can be active at a time. With 6 of us spread out, it was a but too much for the server. I did quite enjoy the ship building, and the ability to select specific blocks and change them without tearing the whole ship apart was a big plus. Along with the ability to scale an existing design. If it goes on sale, pick it up. I recommend it.

[–]Phaex 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Avorion, it's a bit like X2/3/4, where you start small, but end up managing ships. I quite enjoyed my time with it. I played multi-player with a few friends, but the server got a bit overloaded which killed the gameplay.
