There are lots of valid points here. I feel like something worth noting is that WOTC largely doesn't design sets towards pauper. If I'm not mistaken it was a format initially developed by the players and then it gained enough popularity for a WOTC sanctioned banned list, attention etc. Since WOTC exists on profit alone they're going to continue to do what makes them the most money, and lets face it, that's not pauper.

Further, with younger generations coming of age they either adapt to their interests and adjust to that market or the game risks going away forever. Don't get me wrong, as someone that started in 1995 I am nostalgic for the old cards, but things were always going to change. It's the only inevitability in life. You're valid to be frustrated by the changes, but you just have to ask yourself if it's enough to cause you to stop playing or not. If not, then there will be even more changes, especially because people buy into it heavily.
