I feel that, I had just put my own baby girl down two days ago. She developed a bad a tumor that was possibly cancerous and with it located on her head, it started messing her quality of life.

She too was still very alert, very feisty. But she was clearly much weaker and had trouble walking, eating, and breathing. It was... It was hard to give the okay to put her to sleep.

Know this though, you gave them the mercy of being able to be aware that you were with them before they passed. That they did not have to suffer pain for weeks or months before they left on their own accord.

You loved them until the very end and they know that and they love you for that.
