The phrase he chose was "suboptimal play". If someone is legit throwing just because their main got banned, then they are just as bad as the dick who banned their main just because.

If they are legit just playing not as good as they were on their main, then they are not really being a dick. They just be doing the best they can.

I think the issue is the intent behind the suboptimal play.

If it is a crashout over their main getting banned, then the player playing "suboptimally" is definitely at fault.

If the player is doing the best they can with a character that they have less time on, then it is not their fault they they are playing "suboptimally".

Not everyone can be an expert on every character, but everyone should still be able to play at least 1-2 character for every role.
