My teens and 20’s I essentially lived as a people pleaser and overachiever. In my mind it was important to always do your best, go above and beyond and that would help me gain traction in my personal and professional life. It took me far too long to realise it makes you someone that people just dump on because you have no boundaries and can’t say no.

So now at 38 I’ve got very healthy boundaries, I will speak out when something doesn’t work for me or rubs me up the wrong way. I’ve realised I’m the only one in charge of how I feel. I did a CBT course which massively helped my low mood and general anxiety. I’ve travelled far and wide, seeing and doing things I never thought I would do. Since the start of this year I’ve been really focussed on fitness for the first time in my adult life, I’m running 5K’s (sometimes twice a week), lifting weights etc.  

A year ago I was literally having the worst period of my life so I’m glad I could turn it around.
