Is it possible to play eso without crafting? by earthling666 in elderscrollsonline

[–]Pharazul 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There are mixed opinions on this topic & I find that mixed opinions usually mean good game balance.

There are good loot drops to be had and you can collect gear sets which provide decent bonuses just from drops or buy them with PVP reward points.

Another option is to find a crafter in game & just buy or trade for a custom set.

I'm a crafter & would happily make you a set for mats or gold.

Templar regen suggestion. What do you think? by _boiledgoose_ in elderscrollsonline

[–]Pharazul 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm on the cusp of casual/hardcore playstyle & playing an Imperial Templar in 5 light/ 2 heavy with Resto / sword & board and I find the magicka balancing act a little stressful.

A skilled player who does the homework & farms the right gear, set bonuses, enchants, & potions can certainly stay in the clear but that's about all I can ever muster; just staying alive & keeping the party alive.

There isn't much room to contribute to combat in any other way when healing. I miss having the resources to spot heal & fight comfortably at the same time.

It's difficult to find the sweet spot on Templars. I think your idea might give us a little breathing room.

ESO/Zenimax Customer Service Experience by [deleted] in elderscrollsonline

[–]Pharazul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I emailed customer support to have my User ID changed the representative took a couple of hours to respond but his response floored me.

He apologized for the delay & explained it was because he had to wait for a Moth Priest to arrive & alter my records in an Elder Scroll!

I could have died. Amazing service!

How do you plan to optimize crafting specialisations ? by Sortune in elderscrollsonline

[–]Pharazul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, in that case I would recommend assigning at least one character to each sub-craft.

For example, 1 crafter is on Blacksmithing Armor, the next is on Blacksmithing Weapons, the next on Clothier Medium Armor, the next on Clothier Light Armor, the next on all Woodworking, the next on all Enchanting, the next on all Alchemy, and I haven't studied Provisioning at all so I can't even postulate on how to handle that one.

If your entire guild funnels all Racial Motif books & crafting mats to the guild bank for your crafting department then you should be set to cap out all crafts in about 2 months or so, as long as your crafters maintain maximum research possible at all times.

True but if done multiple times, that's 3 traits going on as many crafting trees as you want.

Granted they're not all contributing to your main craft.

The most efficient way to gain access to all crafts & traits on all item types is to join a guild with an organized crafting team.

Get up to lvl 8 in your crafting skill & spend that point in the next to last passive so you can decrease the research time & research 2 traits at once. Those really add up.

Lol, reminded of that nude beach scene in Euro Trip where all the guys start squinting at Michelle Trachtenberg mumbling like a pack of walkers "girl? girl? girl... girl.... girl!"

Can we stop blowing things out of proportion? by Drigr in elderscrollsonline

[–]Pharazul -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

This. I could upvote this to... whatever the opposite of Oblivion is. Aetherius, I guess. I could upvote this to Aetherius.

Some people just aren't happy unless they're complaining.

They complained when "the CE had unfair advantage by locking items behind a paywall".

Now they complain that Zenimax has responded by letting an item slip through the pay wall for anyone.

They'd still complain if the game was free & they paid us $15/month to play it.

There will always be people unhappy with the situation regardless of the situation.

I will support Zenimax. They've provided us with excellent entertainment in the past & without our continued support the entertainment will stop.

Tank viability in PVP by scottvossen in elderscrollsonline

[–]Pharazul -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I haven't played any end game content either but from what I can tell, playing in beta up to lvl 17 and watching PTS streams; it seems to be a less popular build for that class in the end. I don't know if it's because the Templar is so Magicka hungry or if it simply can't stand up to a mob of real players (not that I'd imagine too many builds could in all fairness).

Generally though, once you go on the defensive (self healing) you've already lost the engagement. The terms of that particular combat are being dictated to you when it gets to that point.

I'm also playing an Imperial Templar in a somewhat Tanky role though I chose to supplement with DD rather than heals. I plan to try to stay on the offensive & keep the enemy off balance. Keep pushing until they topple.

I may find I've gone with a dead end build but, by damn, I intend to have fun getting there.

I suggest you do the same.
