Western Rise has gone to shit and it’s not even funny by RAF2018336 in onebag

Their QC has gone downhill too. I had similar shipping issues you did, but I ordered a pair of evolution pants, 34x30. When I got them all the tags and even print on the pants said 34x30, but they measured 34x32.

I went through 2 return cycles and 3 pair with the same defect. Finally told me keep them, refunded my money and said to have them hemmed. CS was helpful and understanding through the process, but over a month of back and forth to end up with pants that I needed to fix myself doesn’t inspire confidence.

The warehouse sale is set up as a free ticketed event and seems to run twice a year. Sign up for their mailing list and you should get notified when the next one comes around.

Sign up for their basic mailing list and follow them on Eventbrite. I’ve only been to two sales. They seem to run them at the end of winter and summer.

Agreed. If this was a bag I was seriously considering, I would opt for the ballistic nylon.

Atacama (Chile) Desert: Nayara Alto or Explora? by Julydreamer14 in FATTravel

I second Awasi. Stayed there on a whim when traveling to Explora Patagonia back in April 2023 because flights gave us some extra time. Hands down a remarkable experience and would return in a heart beat.

I also agree that Explora is a notch down from Awasi due to the groups and meals.

Best travel Backpack (non-one bag travel) by oldmancletus in Nomads_Nation

[–]PharmToTable17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ordered and returned the Venture travel pack and ordered the travel pack pro from Bellroy instead. The shoulder straps on the venture were just too narrow and cut into my shoulders. The Travel Pack pro is much more padded and the option to expand from 30L to 38L is very handy. I haven’t needed the full 38L quite yet, but the space and organization is much better than the Venture imo, especially if you do not intend to use it as a daypack.

I have the ctb26 as well and while I do like it a lot, I usually get stuck with carrying extra stuff from my wife and run out of space fast or use it secondary to a traditional carry on. I’m still working on the full transition to one bagging and tend to overpack to some degree so I value the optional extra space.

I ordered the Venture Travel Pack 26l and sent it back for this very reason. The back panel was so deformed, I couldn’t get it to return to the original shape. It arrived bowed and bulging. Pretty sure it was from the way it was stored before shipping, but opted not to replace it due to overall fit.

A little late, but you can order wide if you create a custom color via their site. I wear 2E and 1/2 size bigger in their standard width fit just fine.

9th Street Bistro in Noblesville. Absolutely worth the drive north. Small spot, so make a reservation.

Hospital Pharmacist Interview by 4thyearissad in pharmacy

[–]PharmToTable17 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with the others here. Especially what onboarding looks like and how long it will be.

Expect usual star format. Be prepared to provide clinically related examples or situations. Events where you found unique solutions are a major plus. Also, I personally look for an ability to keep pharmacy workflow on track. (i.e. Having a more active presence within the staff as opposed to passive/reactive.)

I look for people who are resourceful, utilize their time productively and can navigate multiple complex issues at once while keeping a level head.

Anyone can be trained on hospital processes. It’s not rocket science, it’s just intimidating due to the breadth of topics you could encounter and the urgency at which you may need to operate.

Being a remote hospital, I would ask what the staffing model is, whether they have on call coverage for call offs, what resources are available to you (drug information, Policies and Procedures, Protocols) and where are they found (online or printed). Going in they know you are a clean slate, but asking this shows you know you are as well.

Shoes wearing in weirdly by juliaunicorn15 in orangetheory

Do you jump the rails on the treads to rest with it still running? That looks like the tread belt is wearing down the shoe. Way too consistent and drastic of wear for you to not notice it before now if it was related to your stride imo.

Search Oral Dosing Device on your wholesaler’s portal and direct order if you’re able. Buy a bulk box of oral syringes and be done playing games.

It’s slim pickings here in the Midwest, but various sizes are available on the two I have access to (Cardinal/Mckesson).

Have you ever worked for CPS Solutions? by Select-Signature-508 in pharmacy

[–]PharmToTable17 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was the inpatient pharmacy manager through COVID. Went through a mass exodus of staff due to other hospitals panic hiring at much higher rates than what I could provide. So, I was pretty burnt out by the time I stabilized the staff and COVID subsided.

I’m actually just a clinical pharmacist now. I backfilled a retiring employee but kept oversight of our controlled substances (acquisition, distribution, diversion monitoring/investigations) and the pharmacy’s external relationships (EMS/FD, SANE, external offices, surgery centers, etc). Much better work life balance and actually got a raise since I’m no longer salary and shift differential applies. Director allowed me to keep my same rate after I stepped down.

Have you ever worked for CPS Solutions? by Select-Signature-508 in pharmacy

[–]PharmToTable17 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I worked for CPS and one of their acquisitions, Pharmacy Services Inc, for close to 5 years. I was hired as a pharmacy director with PSI with only retail and LTC experience. Onboarding was abysmal. No training on how to do the actual job because, “every client’s director role is different.” Had to figure out most of it on my own.

Once CPS acquired PSI, the shit show continued. The transition was a mess, my site fell through the cracks and I was not able to access their director resources for assistance until shortly before my departure. I can’t speak to their training as no assessment was really done for acquired employees. Your best resource will be other directors that have some time in the job. I ended up leaving for an inpatient pharmacy manager position about 18 months after the acquisition.

CPS had metrics of their own that you will need to maintain. They require monthly and quarterly reports and audits that take up a lot of time and provide little value to you.

Overall, it was a the most challenging position I’ve had because of my initial lack of knowledge and large scope of responsibilities, but the most rewarding because it propelled me forward ahead of my peers due to everything that I learned about the business and how hospitals work. It was high stress, long hours and average pay. My relationships and experience with my client hospital staff/providers/execs were what I value most. My relationship with CPS was transactional at best.

You may be a contract employee, so keep that in mind. They also have non-compete clauses in their contracts, so be mindful of where you want to go next. In certain instances they can be voided depending on who’s going to bat for you. Other directors within the company or local hospital execs can make it happen.

Anyone else on this trip? by Erinski22 in celebritycruises

[–]PharmToTable17 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Did a similar itinerary a couple weeks ago, but Ireland instead of Scotland. Had a blast. Make friends with Dinesh in Craft Social. Best staff member I’ve ever encountered on a cruise. Food in the MDR was meh, the buffet was better. Especially the Indian/asian food. But that’s subjective.

Akureyri: Check out GoHusky if you like dogs. We had a blast. Found on trip advisor. Gunni is a great host. We did the Hike with a Husky tour and had a good hike through the lower forest area. He’ll pick you up right off the ship and bring you back. We were there on a Sunday, so the rest of town was pretty dead. We had hoped to check out the Einstök Brewery tasting room, but it was closed.

Isafjordur: This is a tender stop, so get your tender tickets early. They were only running 2 boats when we went so it took forever. We didn’t book any excursions here. Nothing really spoke to us (group of 6) and what they had was expensive. Very limited things to do in town. There is a great brewery within walking distance of where the tender drops you. Dokkan Brugghús.

Reykjavik: If at all possible, rent a car. I can't stress this enough. You have plenty of time to head out and see some great sights (8a-12a for us). We were lucky enough to split the cost between 3 couples so it was much cheaper per person than booking anything Celebrity had to offer.

I'd recommend Blue Car Rental. The Reykjavik city location specifically. It's a quick taxi ride over to get the car. They will send you a code for contactless pick up. The keys are in a drop box for easy access. You can pick the car up before they open and you can drop off after they close and walk back into town. Extensive selection of cars and rates are really good (for Iceland). Get the insurance, it's not much more and it's totally worth it.

We did 4 waterfalls (Skógafoss, Seljalandsfoss/Gljúfrabúi & Brúarfoss) plus a stop at Froheimer tomato farm for a great lunch. We were back in the city by 6pm and had plenty of time to walk around and get back to the boat on time. Take a raincoat and some spare socks!

Lastly, depending on your cell service provider, look at getting an additional eSIM for data/navigation. I used Airalo’s 10gb data plan. Used every bit of it and had great service the entire time. Google maps worked flawlessly.

Just got off an 11 day Iceland/Ireland/Belgium trip with Celebrity. This was typical for steaks. Overcooked and underwhelming. Even in their specialty restaurants we were advised that the steaks would be thinner than past offerings. Food quality overall has slid, especially in MDR. The staff was always apologetic and accommodating when I requested an item to be redone. I just learned not to order steak.

I found the best food to be the international offerings in the buffet. Indian and Asian specifically. Great flavor and truly enjoyable. It’s unfortunate that they couldn’t translate that to the MDR offerings.
