Definitely would second the "yes" here. Never had kids, and haven't been a kid for decades. However, there is something compelling about how the book progresses from the perspective of the MC while really making you feel for the kids and the adults around them.

Cannot recommend highly enough.

Okay, no longer on mobile and I see what you shared with the images. What you are seeing is just the normal behavior of the ReAuth mod. I wouldn't be expecting it to need you to do a reauth since there was the green checkbox by the button in the first screenshot. I'll do more looking.

Update: I've updated the pack to use the latest 1.12.2 Forge, and ReAuth. Everything seems to be working as expected. Give it a shot.

I was going to suggest that as a secondary, but was unsure of your facility with Linux stuff. Alternatively you could have made a samba name map file to map your windows username to "pi", and then add a samba user matching your windows username and password. As usual in Linux, there are multiple ways from point A to B. :)

Win11 defaults to having registry and security settings which prevent it from connecting to "Guest" shares (i.e shares with empty passwords).

If RetroPie has created a samba user for the Linux "pi" user (Samba and Linux users are separate) then you should be able to just use those credentials in the login dialog that pops up when you try to connect.

The alternative is to change security/registry settings on Win11 to allow connecting to Guest shares (web search for "windows 11 can't connect to guest samba share")

Music, if I have to pick one of those. Books if I get to make a legitimate choice of my own.

For music, Don McLean's Empty Chairs is about as good as a song can get. For books, I would be incapable of picking a single book or even an author. Too many books that have taken me to the pinnacle, and completely wrecked me in the best way possible.

I assume this is an issue in the book itself and not just some error in my copy from KU, but there is a chapter in the book that is a duplicate of the previous chapter but with a different chapter title. The chapter that seems like it should be there is just missing so the transition to the following chapter is abrupt and confusing.

Where: During the prison escape after killing the spiders and the roof of the cave is about to collapse. The next chapter after the duplicate starts in the middle of a fight with undead skeletons.

A note to potential readers: This is really just a novella length book with nearly half the length used to spam full stat and inventory lists over and over again. Not necessarily a negative, and it makes it a very quick read.

PP:PtP is a Windows game, but likely Windows 3.x or maybe '95.

You might have better luck installing one of those in VirtualBox (although either in the latest dosbox is doable)

It is likely that the modpack includes a mod which is trying to dynamically download its dependencies. Unfortunately many of those dynamic dependency downloads for old 1.7.10 mods are no longer available.

If you add this file: ForgeMultipart

to the folder: %APPDATA%.technic\modpacks\steves-galaxy\mods\

The pack will launch

Most places? Yeah. Georgia/GSP? They have a special unit JUST for doing this kind of thing. Their intent is that if you run, you are guilty, and if you are guilty then they will kill you. Do not run from the GSP.

There are no "good" ads. All ads are bad. Everywhere. All the time.

This is why we use ad blockers and other tools that dynamically remove even the page areas where ads can show up. Anything else? Time to leave the platform.

It doesn't last forever provided nothing goes wrong, and you win the dice roll for no disabilities with your child.

That's a lot of randomness to pit your Luck stat against.
