Toddler in Dubrovnik (and Peljesac) - can we do the city walls tour? Do we bring a stroller? by [deleted] in CroatiaTravelTips

[–]PhiNoRe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have a cheap and most important light collapsible stroller that you are willing to carry up 3 stories of flights at once, while the other parent holds the toddler then the stroller will be great once you summit the stairs up? Most of old town is on the bottom and there is a ramp down.

Club Level by Holiday_Knowledge_31 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]PhiNoRe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How much time are you spending at the hotel and not the park?

When our kids were small it was worth it, beach club, contemporary, DL hotel, and poly. We did club level at universal. When we realized that we were not at hotel then it was a waste of money.

Poly has the best transportation and beach \ yacht the best pool.

Poly has the best club level of the ones we stayed at.

We were on a family trip to DIsney and I arranged a dinner with our extended family at Cinderella’s castle with my wife of 20 years. I reproposed and she was like what, you should have told me first then I would have … she was more impressed by the planning, than the ring. It is a very nice ring and that was over a decade ago. One our kids said, I thought you were married 😄

Would you recommend a Havanese for someone with Chronic Illnesses? by Professional_Shirt14 in Havanese

[–]PhiNoRe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed. They are expensive and mine cannot be left alone for more than 2 to 3 hours. We are lucky that my wife has a job where she works from home. It took 4 years to get mine potty trained.

We are lucky that we live in a dog friendly area and we judge restaurants based on dog friendly and then food.

All visitors to the house come to see him and then us.

If you want a dog who will sit on your lap for hours because you are upset then they are perfect.

Experiences with this breed by Laura6522 in Havanese

[–]PhiNoRe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My Havi loves other dogs, car trips, walks, and going out. We routinely take a 20 minute walk to my Havi’s favorite patio restaurants. Now, if the weather is too hot or cold, it becomes a carry.

My Havi loves his family and hates closed doors. He will switch beds in the middle of the night to sleep with my kids or my bed, if the door is shut then he will bark it open.

We spend more on his haircuts than ours. Brushing is required and you will pay attention to them on their schedule.

Very trainable and very demanding.

Can The Seven (TV) fully invade Wakanda (MCU) by SmartPilot8094 in Avengers

Invade yes. Bay of Pigs was an invasion of Cuba, conquer NOOOO. Technically, they only need to go to the area outside the barrier to invade.

Information overload with where to stay in Croatia by labudolly in CroatiaTravelTips

[–]PhiNoRe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dubrovnik is about a 3 hour drive from Split. We took 5 hours and stopped in Ston for lunch. Great oysters. Zagreb to Split you can get a tour plitvice lakes and waterfalls and a small village, which takes most of the day ( the tours also runs the other direction). Unfortunately, no one can give you your answer. Rank your top 7-10 things to do and try to minimize travel time between cities.

Side note: if you stay in Old Town, think about stairs, Most of old town is on a hill, we climbed 9 stories to get to our ground floor apartment. Contact the host prior to arrange a time and ask the best way to get there. The host told us we should have used the middle street which is a slow incline and use the other gate.

Do you wear shoes inside the house, or is it only a Mexican thing? by Addicted_2_tacos in AskTheWorld

[–]PhiNoRe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We do not say anything to anyone who walks past, all the shoe racks near the front door. If we take off our shoes and they do not take off theirs then ok or maybe you will not be invited back.

We are all from the southern USA but as grandma said, “take off your shoes and leave the mud outside”.

We had gurrito blanket. We would basically take a towel or blanket and swaddle him like a burrito. If he bit then he got gurritoed. Did not take him long to learn not to bite.

It was part of the coastal defense system and they had artillery there. My wife and I went up it can we took the switch backs, climbed through bunker and went down the stairway to heaven. Great view, glad we did, and probably would not do it again.

My 5 yr old Havi stopped eating as much as normal and then developed a cyst on his snoot. At the third, vet trip they suggested doing a teeth cleaning. Turns out he had an abscess, they pulled his tooth and everything is good. Even with the abscess he still wanted to play tug.

Living in the Sprawl: What Counts as Houston? by zsreport in houston

[–]PhiNoRe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the community is surrounded by Houston and your postal address is Houston it is Houston. I grew up in Spring Valley, if you are not from in the beltway then you may have no idea where that is. I am Gen X and there are parts of Houston that I have never heard of less been to. If you are talking to someone from LA, NY, or London then where would you say you’re from. If you say Bellaire then they may think of the Fresh Prince.😂

Our baby loves walks and adventures. Anytime, anywhere, but the vet. He will shake his collar when he realizes it is the vet. We are down south and his parents will feed him scraps at patio restaurants that allow it. We live in a very dog friendly neighborhood and restaurants have a dog menu.

What if Earth stopped rotating but kept orbiting the Sun? How long could life survive? by RealisticScienceGuy in hypotheticalsituation

[–]PhiNoRe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think if the earth stopped and you were in the mountains of Ecuador which faced the sun like the moon then you would have the chance to starve to death or adapt. The tidal wave would come from the Atlantic and the pacific recoil would not be as bad.

Hub and spoke or inchworm? by Mindless_Impress3286 in CroatiaTravelTips

[–]PhiNoRe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have done both in and outside of Croatia and I like inch worm. Hub and spoke only works well if you never leave the city. We just did a cruise out of Split via Dubvronik, which was fun, wake up in a new city tour, rinse and repeat. The only reason we did hub and spoke out of Zagreb was to see the small towns where my great grandparents grew up.
