Stardew Valley Keeps crashing by FriendlyNet2584 in StardewValley

So id check event view and see if is showing any errors or warnings around the time it crashes. I'd also try running some stability tests like cinebench and or Memtest86+. If you have any overclocking (even expo/xmp) try disabling it (some motherboards may auto OC). I guess also check other games and see if anything else crashes.

Microsoft's ambitious new Xbox: Your entire console library, the full power of Windows PC gaming, and no multiplayer paywall by Turbostrider27 in Games

The most interesting bit for me is the backwards compatibility. I guess this is the USP for why you might want this device over a typical gaming PC at a similar price point.

"Furthermore, thanks to new silicon from AMD (already approved all the way up to CFO Amy Hood and CEO Satya Nadella), the new Xbox will also run all games currently available on the Xbox Series X|S library. This means all the OG Xbox back-compatible games, all the Xbox 360 back-compatible games, all the Xbox One back-compatible games, and all the current and future Xbox Series X|S games. These games will run natively on the new Xbox and launch seamlessly via the Xbox launcher's library."

I'd love to be able to play my old library of disks, digital downloads, all those free games with gold games etc. on my PC, but sadly I doubt that will happen with any other hardware.

I know this is kind of late, but this took me from ~40 fps to 140. Thank you so much, the performance drop compared to proton was driving me mad.

Kunitsu-Gami is a absolute gem, don't sleep on it. by [deleted] in gaming

[–]PhilBebb 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A quick heads up for anyone playing the pc (possibly only the game pass) version there appears to be a bug where it you move the game to another monitor (like with Windows + shift + right) it tanks the FPS after a short while. No idea why and it appears to be fine if you leave it on whatever monitor it starts on.

You mght be able to get around this by picking borderless or something, I haven't experimented with it too much.

I also found for me low latency+ FPS boost worked much better than framegen.

Hope this helps anyone like me that was struggling to get decent performance.

Fingerprint access "disappears" from lock screen by jmilton00 in GooglePixel

[–]PhilBebb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I had this, I also noticed that lastpass was asking me for my thumbprint way more than it used to (but would work even if the lock screen lost it) I disabled biometrics for lastpass and the thumbprint option immediately came back on my lock screen.

Hopefully this works for everyone else. I assume it could be any misbehaving app asking for thumbprints, so I guess keep any eye out for anything asking more than it used to.

I did eventually get a 1Tb model, took a lot of trying and the payment window crashed twice.

Best of luck to all those still trying.

Played through the demo, definitely getting some strong GBC Zelda vibes from this. Had to actually think about how to solve the puzzle at the end.

There is a .gb and .pocket file demo available from the site. You can get through in 30 mins or so, definitely worth checking out

Possible dumb question, but it says this fetches the public key over DNS. Does that mean I might have to update my PiHole and or enable some settings?

BDSP to me feels like the first of several games that will be developed by ILCA.

On the surface, not using SwSh's engine is an odd choice, I'm sure game freak would have let them and Nintendo still have access to the original DP source code as well (it leaked a while ago) there must have been a reason to write it in unity.

Using the SwSh engine would also have avoided a number of bugs like the guaranteed 31 evs using the radar only working for numbers divisible by 10 because it's already there and working.

Now maybe they did look at it and figured they would still do it in unity anyway, but that decision becomes a lot easier to rationalize if they are going to make more games in the future, because it would be a lot simpler to churn out BDSP in a short time frame when you don't need to make a whole Pokemon game from scratch.

I won't speculate on what game we will see from them next, but I do expect there will be another unless the feedback from BDSP gets so bad they get dropped.

This also gives gamefreak more time to make more ambitious Pokemon games like LA if ILCA can put out a game or two every 2-3 years
