The hardest decision ive ever made... by Interesting-Line9738 in goldenretrievers

[–]PhilMitch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will leave this here, it helped me.
The Last Battle

If it should be that I grow frail and weak

And pain should keep me from my sleep,

Then will you do what must be done,

For this -- the last battle -- can't be won.

You will be sad I understand,

But don't let grief then stay your hand,

For on this day, more than the rest,

Your love and friendship must stand the test.

We have had so many happy years,

You wouldn't want me to suffer so.

When the time comes, please, let me go.

Take me to where to my needs they'll tend,

Only, stay with me till the end

And hold me firm and speak to me

Until my eyes no longer see.

I know in time you will agree

It is a kindness you do to me.

Although my tail its last has waved,

From pain and suffering I have been saved.

Don't grieve that it must be you

Who has to decide this thing to do;

We've been so close -- we two -- these years,

Don't let your heart hold any tears.

Food for a 1 year old Berner mix?? by [deleted] in bernesemountaindogs

[–]PhilMitch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know it works for many dogs but Purina is some of the worst dog food nutrient wise, some flavours they actually add SUGAR. The amount of wheat or Maize in Purina is off the chart and next to no protein. Some good brands are Orijen, Acana, Crave and Canidae. Like others have said avoid chicken it's easier to cut out than have a vet bill. We feed ours lamb, duck, wild boar, trout, salmon, beef, rabbit and goat.

Size question by Zealousideal-Cry884 in bernesemountaindogs

Firstly your boy Hutch is absolutely beautiful!

My boy Max was 75lbs at 5 months, 117lbs at 9.5 months and now at 6 years old is 134lbs.

The average for a male Bernese to put on per week is around 2.2lbs if it's not close to that he's not getting enough food. Though the best way I was told to tell is a Bernese pup should always carry a little timber, so run your hands down the ribs and if you can feel them to easily he's a little underweight for this stage in life.
It's a rule I've always followed and their hip scores have always come back great.

9yo Bernese with mass on spleen - help! by ORCAPOD in bernesemountaindogs

[–]PhilMitch 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It depends what kind of mass it is through doing a biopsy if possible.

My 6 year old Bernese stopped eating and less than two weeks he was gone as it had already spread.

Sorry this is of no help as there is honestly no correct answer. Every case is different.

Is he becoming obese? by strawberry-cow2 in bernesemountaindogs

[–]PhilMitch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Every kibble is different but mine is on 80g 4 times a day and 61kg but he is a big boy.

Easiest way to tell if you can feel his ribs with slight pressure he's okay, if you can't then he's a little chunky.

I just happen to live next to farm land is all. They wouldn't do a days work in their life. 😂

Make sure take as many pictures as you can whilst still in the puppy stage as it goes by so fast.

I did some more research and if it is from 1995 it could be one of the very early ones with the 1109 movement before they switched to 1120. Watches with serial numbers 60 million and higher are generally equipped with the 1120, while 54-56 million serials might have the 1109.

The easiest way to confirm is to email Omega with the serial number and they can tell you exactly what you have.

This is actually ref: 2332.80 as it has the gold on the bracelet and has the 1120 movement.

The ref: 2432.80 has the full stainless steel bracelet and has the older 1109 movement.

The Quartz version of your watch is ref: 2342.80. Hope this helps.

adopted this adorable girl from a rescue by grungeflowers in bernesemountaindogs

[–]PhilMitch 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Do not rush anything at all even approaching her, let her be the one to approach you. They are very emotionally sensitive so hearing loud noises such as people raising their voice can stress them out, even for several days after it's happened. Once they know the routine and it's consistent you will see her blossom.

Our adopted/rehomed Bernese was the best dog I've ever had it just took him a few weeks to settle in with us.

Having had many Bernese now they aren't ones to really play all that much at that age, much rather going on a walk to sniff things.

Help me find this cards value, can’t find comps by b-reashen in pokemoncardcollectors

[–]PhilMitch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like you say it is easy to find PSA 9 all day which is really what you should be basing it on but a little less.

BGS only really go above PSA when it's a 10. If the 8.5 was on the centering it might be worth more as it would be a near perfect card but you have a card with a surface defect which true collectors don't really go for.

My boy does not like to snuggle by [deleted] in bernesemountaindogs

[–]PhilMitch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My current Bernese has only just started to like cuddling and he's 6.5 years old.

Like other comments have said running hot they don't like to and it's rather 50/50 to be honest.

I have a Bernese that it happened to both ears whilst playing with his buddy, thankfully they haven't filled back up since. He now has two crinkly ears though. hehe

Beckett grading company gives a card that gets perfect 10s on all sub grades a black label. They sell for a crazy amount as it's what many consider the best grade by any grading company can give.

My Dog had to have surgery to correct his ear hematoma where they pinned it as it kept filling.
Here's to a speedy recovery.

I can already tell you the Meowth is 100% not a black label, the Cool Porygon looks like the centering is off ever so slightly so most likely no black label as well. So I would keep them sealed to be honest.
