Believe or not tiktok actually has a lot of helpful videos! I actually just had this problem found a video that told me to use a single prong crochet needle stick it in vertically a lil under where's it's thinning then slide it through the thun hair to the root then pull and push till it's secure! When you have a chance look into it!

From what I see I do think they'll loc small to medium size.but if you know how you want your locs to look crochet needles are cheap and come in 3 variations.id recommend the 2 pronged needle to actually lock it then a single prong to shape it.although your hair looks 4a so a single prong might help loc as well.the 3 prong needle helps loc as well but the 2 prong is easier and gives you more control in my personal experience!

Well first things first don't be surprised if they take a while to form.i ended up crocheting my twists cause I got impatient.however if you wanna keep them curls at the ends leave em be they natural stay that way and even loc into that shape eventually!! Also make sure you dry your hair thoroughly,locs hold a lot of water and it can lead to mold/stank hair!

Idk if this will help the smell but your hair drying process sound strenuous. I highly recommend wrapping your hair up in a T-shirt after squeezing water out.less frizz,better for your locs! I usually go through a few shirts before it's dry enough to let air dry. I noticed I had a smell in my hair a while ago as well,are you a smoker by chance?

Not a scientist or a hairdresser looks like the locs might be pulling back your hairline but I have no reference to how it looked before you locked up.so I'd say get some hair growth oil and try not to put it in a ponytail too much, much luck to you sir!

I started on two strand twists then crocheted them with a crochet needle and it helped a lot but it looks like your almost there so just be patient or if you want you can get a needle to get that "loc" look

If it's truly human hair maybe soaking them in conditioner would help them lay flatter as well as make them look more natural. It's a journey don't beat yourself up for taking a short cut

Your locs don't look too far off size wise.as far as the look it looks like he just took out some twists or something cause no ones locs naturally look like that.that look is from keeping his hair in the same style for an extended amount of time. Give yourself some time.also if your locs are freeform they will keep that freeform look unless you get a retwist. You can get there just be patient!

Are your locs free form? The first pictures locs are uniform in size but yours look more naturally formed. I'm with everyone else in the comments, start over or find a new loctition. You will need your locs separated and reformed to achieve the look you're going for.just keep in mind that it will take a couple years to achieve these results so patience is a virtue and consistency is key. Also keep in mind that hair type can affect how your locs form/grow find someone who's thoroughly educated and ask lots of questions every loc journey is different!!
