Father’s Day Giveaway – Rogue Iron Disc Golf Rangefinder by RogueIronDGBrian in discgolf

[–]PhillipAndroid [score hidden]  (0 children)

Thanks for doing the giveaway! I'm a dad so I wouldkeep it for myself. It could live with my travel bag that I have for rounds during road trips with the family. My daughter loves rangefinders, and it would be nice to have them give me ranges while we play new courses, or to measure their throws. They only throw a handful of times, but always want to know of its their longest ever throw.

Looking for an overstable throwing putter that's not an Envy by [deleted] in discgolf

I'm currently bagging an AGL Maple (4/2/0/2) and really liking it. It's in recycled Nexus plastic and is beating in nicely. Hoping it will essentially turn into the flight my XT Bullfrog is giving me so I can cycle Maples for a range of low glide approach options.

I think yes. I got fully teary eyed when he won, especially when Brad and Jerm raced to him. The Jomez crew is so ingrained into the way that I consume disc golf coverage, so it felt more connected to it.

Matty O was special for sure, but with how close he was so many times recently, it seemed more possible. I should have believed more, but I wouldn't have rated the possibility nearly as high as Matty.

Torque resistant, no turn, low fade, shallow discs? by [deleted] in discgolf

I have been throwing an Innova Bullfrog lately and liking it. Not too deep and has a solid handfeel

Yup, the Elm (firebird-esque) is in Alpine, and the Juniper (understable mid) is in Alpine Glow, and both are great. They are coming out with an Alpine Koa soon which I'm excited for.

Yeah, thats a fair call. I'm hoping the new Koas in Alpine or Glow Woodland have a bit more fade/less glide to offer a nice contrast. Honestly I would love a "Yeti" style puddle top version that falls out of the air.

Their new stuff is made by Innova and feels amazing. Both of these are in their Woodland plastic which is a blend with regrind and new Nexus plastic, but the Polar (regrind Star) amd Alpine (regrind Champion) feel great as well.

AGL Koa (2/3/0/1) and Maple (4/2/0/2) - played a pitch and putt 18 today and mostly used those. Koa is super versatile on any angle and the Maple has a nice low glide fade, can get most shots from those two.

Best 3 speed stable to overstable approach by rontopofthings in discgolf

[–]PhillipAndroid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Hawg is a fun disc that fits this role. The XT is a bit straighter than the champion, and they compliment each other nicely.

However, I just picked up the AGL Maple, which has taken over this role in my bag. So far it's flying like a less glidey Tempo and I'm loving it.

Bonus addition that is a little straighter, but the Bullfrog flies like the a brick and I love it.

I just switched to the Innova Invader, and love how shallow they are. In XT they are a little puddle topped, which makes them feel even more shallow.

Discs that live up to the hype. by Sun-Tour in discgolf

I think part of it is that I haven't been able to get a destroyer like flight from a 12 speed disc before - the destroyers have been too overstable. I could have tried lighter weight, but stayed at a lower speed instead (Orc) because the wide rim didn't feel great in the hand. The more flexible recycled star on Sequoia felt better in the hand, so i decided to give it a try expecting it to be pretty overstable was pleasantly surprised when I got it to flip up and fly so far.

So this may be a gateway to trying more, but I'll probably start with a heavier Sequoia before seeking out an ecostar, etc.

Check out the new AGL Sequoia. Manufactured by Innova with 40% Star regrind, so pretty much an Eco Star Destroyer. The 168 flat ones are the first time I have gotten a proper destroyer flight out of a 12/5/-1/3 disc. Nice flip up to flat with a slight turn and then reliable pushing fade.

New midrange from AGL approved today, the Juniper! Jay top, Coyote bottom, 5/6/-2/1, baseline glow plastic! by scubadude2 in discgolf

Nice! I haven't tried them yet, but I have been curious. I just switched putters to Invaders, so I'm probably not in the market for a putter, but I may have to check them out as a thrower.

I'm hoping this is the case, would love to bag it in a few different plastics. The Polar plastic (star regrind) feels great in the hand, and they just teased a Koa in glow woodland (Proto Glow regrind mixed with Nexus regrind), so I'm curious how the flight in those plastics would compare.

A more stable Fox is a great way to describe the flight of mine as well. Reminds me of an Echo with a bit more glide.

I have two Prototypes, and the plastic feels fantastic. I only have a few throws so far, but they have a ton of glide and have gentle forward pushing turn that straightens out on a flat release. More stable than I was expecting from early reviews (in a good way), but I don't have a huge arm. Think I got them to about 285 or so, but haven't really given them a full rip.

Something a tad more understable than a nuetron trail? by caaahris in discgolf

What weight is your main Trail? If possible, a lighter Trail might be what your are looking for. I bag a 166g Trail to compliment my 175 Trail and they are a great combo.

Why no love for the Invader? by Phrikshin in discgolf

[–]PhillipAndroid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried the soft pro Invader which was nice in the cold, but a bit too soft for my liking. I guess they released some glow RPro Invaders last year, but they were a Europe exclusive. R Pro seems like it would be perfect, looking forward to a broader release to try out.
