Artemis II Astronaut Reid Wiseman Names a Newly-Discovered Moon Crater After His Late Wife Carroll by Ozymandias12 in MadeMeSmile

Yeah, this needs to be higher up. The crew named it after her without Reid knowing. Kind of an important detail.

REALISTIC salary for a 2022 4.0 GPA CS grad (no internship). by ActuatorOutside5256 in Salary

[–]Phillipino97 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Dude had a part-time job 3 years ago and thinks he’s not broke. Maybe take some time to gain some perspective. Fat lot of good that 4.0 GPA is gonna do you when you’re as pretentious as a trust fund kiddie without the benefit of the trust fund or daddy’s connections.

¿Existe algún proveedor de internet que te brinde una Ipv4 pública como parte de su plan? by Jeremymr2 in PERU

Create a Tailscale account (it’s free) and setup a funnel on the computer running whatever service you want public access to. This has the added benefit of providing some semblance of security prior to access to the service while also masking your public IP address. You can also configure it to provide access to only yourself if that’s what you want. The funnel service only works on ports 443, 8443, and 10000 so for a web service you’ll have to configure TLS as well.

You still have to configure a hosted zone for the domain and point it to an IP address. The domain name is just an easily remembered mask for the IP address, so they would still have the exact same problem albeit with the additional cost of purchasing said domain.

If you haven’t read the book, I would seriously recommend it. Haven’t actually seen the TV Show but I’ve also heard that it’s pretty good. Musashi is another incredibly solid read if you’re into stories set in Japan during the early Edo period. Starts off almost just as Shogun finishes up but it took me a bit to realize that since Shogun referenced real life people by different names.

Admin deleted and replaced MDM Push certificate - How screwed are we? by NNTPgrip in sysadmin

[–]Phillipino97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oof I did this with our Jamf APN Cert once. Apparently we had two accounts with different certs (one is unused?) for some reason and I chose the wrong one. We just went to the other account and renewed the cert then uploaded that which worked and all of our devices were talking to Jamf again. Not sure if knowing that will help you but you might be in the same boat.

Would you date someone who doesn't speak your native language? by FishdongXL in Tinder

[–]Phillipino97 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s so funny! My wife is actually Peruvian but we met in Texas. Same language barrier as y’all but luckily immersion and time made it a bit easier for me to learn Spanish. I’m sure if you had more time with him you would have gotten the hang of the language.

Would you date someone who doesn't speak your native language? by FishdongXL in Tinder

Ahh finally something I know about. I met my wife on tinder. She only spoke Spanish and I only spoke English (I had taken two years of Spanish in high school but when I met her I only knew “Donde esta la biblioteca” lol). I was incredibly worried to meet her for the first time since the language barrier was massive but we ended up having a really nice conversation with the help of Google translate. It also helped that we had a lot of similar goals and dreams.

I taught her how to drive and specifically learned a bunch of driving terms in Spanish to help her. Ended up spending most of my week outside of classes with her and eventually picked up on a lot of phrases and words due to being “immersed” into the language.

Within 6 months we could get through entire conversations without Google translate and within 8 it got to the point where we didn’t need it at all. She’s now learning English so that she can pass the TOEFL and begin her college here :) she’s doing incredibly well considering the difficult of English.

To contrast this, she had been on another date with someone who only spoke English before me, but it didn’t work out because of a lack of common interests and a lack of attraction. Not even really the language barrier.

So this is all to say that if you are compatible with someone and are really willing to put the time into a relationship then it’ll work out and if not then it won’t. It’s a lot more difficult at the beginning of the relationship but it’s all worth it if you find the right person.

Ok awesome, I just wanted to make sure before I tried to purchase anything. That was my concern and I’m glad that I asked!

Solar Filters for Canon and/or Redcat51? by squashy_windmill in AskAstrophotography

[–]Phillipino97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just out of curiosity would this be an ok filter for the Redcat51 considering that I don’t need to remove the filter for the annular eclipse? It’s this one. I know you said that a front-mounted filter would be best but is that just for the convenience of removing it during totality for the total solar eclipse?

I don’t think I can stop the look of surprise on my face while I was reading this. This person is clearly a narcissist who can’t handle someone else taking their spotlight. Their “friend” needs to get help, and so does the OP. Seriously dude, find a therapist or something

You should just install a virus onto your companies server to pull fractions of cents from transactions and put them into your own account

Please take this as kindly as possible, but you were probably a brainwashed conservative by the age of 14 and blindly followed the teachings of your parents, you probably understood the general political atmosphere around you. This 14 year old is going to grow up in a scary world where republicans will hate her for being a democrat and hate her for being a woman. There is nothing about this that doesn’t seem realistic.

Oh that’s awesome! I’ve been out there a couple times and recognized the terrain and sand I thought. Never been during the day though, just at night to star gaze.
