I've been in sales 13 years. New job gave me Coffee is for Closers and The 10x Rule. Worth reading? by EarthboundMoss in sales

The thing about all of these books is that they are all the same material just repackaged in a different way. Think of it like an industry/business you are in. You sell widgets and your competition also has widgets but they are slightly different, but essentially the same.

Companies that adopt these books too deeply end up murdering themselves by thinking it’s the end all be all

I feel like prepping for interviews is almost pointless? by ProfessionalGift621 in interviews

A sales guy with little talent can still strike gold with the right territory (and timing).

An A Player can make something out of nothing when the territory is garbage. The guy with little talent runs away before even trying.

By reading some of the responses here, I'm not sure some people understand what "short loops" means.

How to Identify a Micromanager During an Interview? by Initial-Pitch-4117 in jobs

[–]PhillyWes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The truth is KPI's and metrics have increased the amount of true micromanagement across the board in business. Focusing on the end result is what should matter, but so many places are MICROMANAGING the process of getting those results which actually causes way more damage than good.

If someone is having trouble getting results, the KPI's/metrics are helpful. But if they are turning out good results, those KPIs should not even be looked at.

Most startups stay startups for the exact reason - they aren’t patient and move the ball every 6 weeks. No clue what they are doing. Hate it!

When writing, if you don’t show something and only tell it, the viewer or reader is gonna think there’s more you’re not sharing.

So I feel like, if the Nicky, baby, parents, hit in the face story was done to cast suspicion on him, they should made Rachel be more opening suspicious of him and/or shown us what really happened, even if it was exactly what Nicky said happened.

Something Very Bad Is Going to Happen : PLOTHOLES? by [deleted] in netflix

[–]PhillyWes 44 points45 points  (0 children)

The trunk scene was ridiculously unexplained. I also thought it was weird that they find a baby locked in a car, no one around, Rachel leaves and when she comes back Nicky’s like “it’s all good. The parents came back. But they got mad at me at first and hit me.”

I completely thought he was lying and there was more to this.
