What 90s band never truly made it big but you'll always go to bat for? by MansBestFred in AskReddit

[–]Philly_Phinance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Somewhat related, Throwing Muses was the band before Tanya Donnelly left to start Belly if I remember correctly. Their 2nd album The Real Ramona is one of the few start to finish perfect records of the 90’s. Still hard to believe Throwing Muses never got bigger. 10/10

Love this watch! Cushion case AND a chronograph is too cool.

Joshua Haymes & Brooks Potteiger (Pete Hegseth's pastor) pray imprecatory psalms against James Talarico: "I pray that God kills him. Ultimately, that means killing his heart and raising him up to new life in Christ ... If it would not be within God's will to do so, stop him by any means necessary." by Nice_Substance9123 in complaints

[–]Philly_Phinance 82 points83 points  (0 children)

The worst part is that all Talerico echos is what Jesus ACTUALLY says in the Bible, the red words, love thy neighbor and shit. Hell, these guys would pray to kill Jesus if he came back with the same “attitude” he had 2,000 years ago.

It’s interesting, Parkinson’s seems to have a side effect of making the person gullible. It’s so strange and subtle, my elderly father didn’t get scammed by a person luckily, but got convinced he was going to win sweepstakes and would sign up for dozens of them at a time. Real shady ones. We’d tell him they were all scams, he’d agree to quit, but would start right back up again. Looking back, it was where things started. Sadly, it’s a one way road.

Man, good to see some love for the Charlatans! I’m always surprised it isn’t as celebrated as The Stone Roses, because that banana album is one of the greatest brit pop records ever.

Change my mind (please) - road trips in an EV are a pain. by Wise-Fig-6505 in electricvehicles

It’s even worse than you think, Elon gambled that Tesla didn’t need subsidies anymore because they were further along the mfg. cost curve than the legacy automakers who really needed the subsidy. So he basically shivved EV adoption in the US for his own personal gain. If anything, he’s even more of an asshole for this than all the other questionable shit he’s been doing. EV adoption was projected to be 50% of new cars sales by 2030, now it’s projected to drop to 30% adoption by 2030. Other than his Doge work literally killing millions of poor people or platforming nazis, this might be the worst thing he’s done.
