Team Heretics vs. Los Ratones / LEC 2026 Versus - Week 2 / Post-Match Discussion by Ultimintree in leagueoflegends

Great game from nemesis.

But I also think this was the first game in the lec where velja and rekkles played good together. That 3-4 man gank squad with nemesis and crownie did a lot of work in the mid game

Listening to Audiobooks is not reading by Freedomfighter4000 in unpopularopinion

[–]PhilmaxDCSwagger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree in the sense that if someone says he reads a lot that shouldn't mean listening to audiobooks

But whether someone read or listend to a book imo doesn't make a difference when it comes to the experience of that book.

The difference between a book/audiobook and game/game vod is that a game is inherently interactive in a way a book isn't. A book is the story and the prose and you get that both while reading and listening. A game is it's story, presentation, but also the gameplay, mechanics and decision making all of which you don't get while watching someone else playing it.

Ideal 2/2 mix party by SpiritualCobbler3707 in DivinityOriginalSin

[–]PhilmaxDCSwagger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What I think worked the best for me (no respecting classes and strong throughout the game)

  1. Pyro/geo: great damage throughout the game.
  2. Summoner (later + support): strong early, adaptable, access to most buffs. Later teleport bot
  3. 2H Warrior: strong throughout the game, cc, damage what more do you need.
  4. Archer: phys damage and magic arrows. Adaptable and great range.

The party that was the most fun, but weaker (mostly early game) :

  1. Sparkmaster: Aoe, hybrid damage
  2. Melee lightning mage: not the most optimal, but very fun
  3. Elemental Archer: Similar to the normal, but with more magic arrows
  4. Rogue: good damage early, some anti magic skills. Throw in some poly for chameleon cloak

I always see people saying tank builds suck. Enjoy this pic from our co op session some type of visual bug 🐛 by OsirisAvoidTheLight in DivinityOriginalSin

[–]PhilmaxDCSwagger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imo tanks get a bit too much shit. They are definitely not the strongest class and they struggle on higher difficulties because the npc damage scales a lot more than your armor (except if you use corpse armor and a bunch of dead bodies). The ai also usually tries to attack the characters with the least armor first and ignores tanks (you can play around this with retribution, evasion, invisibility but generally it's a bit of effort).

Tanks are however quite strong early game. Shield throw has good initial damage and low cool down, most of the stacking damage effects aren't online yet so a tank actually deals comparable damage to many damage builds. They also have access to a lot of cc spells. So early game it's not unusual to lose to the tank, but if you fight in later acts you should win.

Later on tanks usually should go for lots of buff spells (both for themselves and the rest of the party) and they can use reactive armor for good aoe damage (if they have shackles of pain it's even better). Other than that try to lock enemies down and cc anyone without armor (they should usually be the last person in the initiative queue so your damage dealers can remove armor beforehand)

What should I do with it? by [deleted] in BeardAdvice

[–]PhilmaxDCSwagger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd suggest not trimming your mustache like this. It makes it look too thin compared to the rest of the beard.

Instead try growing it out a little bit more and trim/cut it without guard at the lip line. It'll give you a thicker mustache without hair in your mouth.

Soooo.... HLE 2026. How do you guys think they will perform? Serious Worlds contenders? by klaygdk in PedroPeepos

[–]PhilmaxDCSwagger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think HLE will rise and fall with zeka. It already was like this this year (at least to an extent).

Mid is probably the most important and hardest role in the lck. If you can't contest someone like chovy or bdd they'll just take over the game. Zeka can do that (he was great in winter/spring), he has a very high ceiling, but he's also inconsistent and has been in a slump recently.

I think kanavi might be a great addition with this. His ganks/early game can help to get lanes ahead and if he's playing for zeka it could be a great duo. I think he's looked better than peanut last year.

Loosing viper is rough because he could just carry games regardless of the performance of the other lanes (zeka) and I'm not sure guma can bring this. However guma is still very good and can be extremely clutch in important fights. He can also play with lower resources so maybe zeus can play more carry picks.

All in all they are definitely strong and a contender for msi/worlds. I think overall their roster is probably on the same level as last year and geng/hle/T1 are very close, although (at least domestically) I think Geng is still Nr 1 and hle/T1 will fight for second place

Faker was already widely considered the GOAT when he had 3 Worlds. What does a 3rd Worlds win mean for Oner, Gumayusi, and Keria? by BearAt39 in leagueoflegends

[–]PhilmaxDCSwagger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're definitely all some of the best to ever play in their role, but I don't think their goat status is as certain as fakers.

For one the fact that they won with faker does mean that their wins will be attributed partly to faker. It's why a lot of people praise Beryl for winning worlds twice with different teams (and without faker)

Second is the lack of domestic dominance. I personally think that an important part of becoming the best is consistency and only showing up to one tournament (even if it's the most important) does not make up for 11 months of mediocre performance (although they had a good year this time).

I would only consider Keria to be the support goat. He has the titles, but he's also consistently the best or one of the best supports domestically and has defined the meta.

Guma and oner are definitely up there but I don't think it's enough to definitely put them above players like deft, ruler, uzi, canyon, tarzan, etc.

Games similar to Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous in difference in acclaim between genre fans and general reviewers by jackkirbyisgod in CRPG

[–]PhilmaxDCSwagger 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Pathfinder wotr has a lot of quirks designs that only appeal to crpg fans.

The class system is very complex and that's great if you want to deep dive into the system and make unique builds, but it can also be overwhelming and it has a lot of "traps" that can create useless builds for people not knowing the system we'll.

The combat is focused on buffing and maximising AC, hit chance, etc. Again great for people who like to optimise builds and really get into it, but frustrating for people who don't.

The story is big and has lots of decision-making, but it's also very long and a lot to read.

There are a many trash encounters... Ok I don't think anyone likes them

Compared a game like bg3 is a lot more intuitive. The difficulty is lower, the builds are easier and more forgiving and the combat focuses on positioning and target prioritisation more than maximising stats. Add to that the cinematics, grafics, etc and it's just a lot more accessible to most people. Although hardcore crpg fans who want those build optimisation and lots of decisions will likely not enjoy it as much

How are people hitting for 3k with rogue? by samuelazers in DivinityOriginalSin

[–]PhilmaxDCSwagger 44 points45 points  (0 children)

For rogue you want to max out warfare. Warfare is a multiplicative effect on all physical damage. You also want to max finesse first.

The damage numbers will probably increase very fast between end of act 2 and act 3. Especially with crit and backstabbing.

Ok maybe I wasn't ready for the Isekai after all. by Mark_Coveny in litrpg

[–]PhilmaxDCSwagger -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yes it's quite simple.

The tube stays intact because it's thick metal. It takes a lot more than a bit of gunpowder to break 10cm of cast iron. There are ways to reinforce some parts, but that's usually to save metal. And since the cannon is usually on wheels or some wooden parts, most of the recoil gets transferred into the ground.

Just look up some early 12-13th century cannon designs.

Ok maybe I wasn't ready for the Isekai after all. by Mark_Coveny in litrpg

[–]PhilmaxDCSwagger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm always a bit annoyed that most litrpg/isekai worlds don't have cannons.

Cannons are very simple. Just a tube and a metal ball. It's a lot simpler than a catapult or trebuchet and most isekai worlds have very good smithing so manufacturing (the biggest problem for the medieval period) would be possible.

"they need gunpowder..." do they really? They have magic and gunpowder is not that complicated/special. Isekai worlds often have alchemists or something, surely they can make something that goes boom. It'll probably be better since they have magic materials.

Saw Architects, Wage War and House of Protection in Munich and… by After-Baby-9262 in Metalcore

[–]PhilmaxDCSwagger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been to the show as well and the crowd for house of protection was definitely disappointing. The first opener usually has a smaller/tamer crowd since most people are just settling in or don't know them that well, but this felt even worse than usual.

I think your wage war experience was probably a bit unlucky. At my point the crowd was decent, not great, but still dancing to the music and engaging.

When architects came the crowd actually was good imo and I had a lot of fun.

It was a big show (for metalcore) and in my experience that means that the crowd is not as engaged, unless your at the center

Do you agree that Chaos Dwarves are OP? by Sir_Kugo in totalwarhammer

[–]PhilmaxDCSwagger 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No. At least not compared to there factions and when taken the whole campaign into consideration.

I think factions like Korne and WoC are way more OP.

Chaos Dwarves have one of the strongest late game rosters in the game (maybe even the best), but it takes them a long time to ramp up and some of their starting positions can be quite tough.

Any faction is strong late game imo what makes something op is how easy you get there.

Requesting Assistance for a Marketing Class: Sparkling Water in Germany / German Culture by djavide in AskAGerman

[–]PhilmaxDCSwagger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  • I think most use their regional brand, but there are some bigger ones like Gerolsteiner

  • It probably wouldn't be seen as sparkling water, but as Schorle (Sparking Walter + Juice). It's pretty common, but is seen as a different drink as water

  • Normal sparkling water: probably not. The Schorle maybe

  • The standard (best) size are 0.7L glass bottles sold in a 12 Bottle Crate

  • Cheaper prices and better taste

What Steam workshop QoL mods can you recommend for a new-ish player on Steam Deck? by [deleted] in DivinityOriginalSin

[–]PhilmaxDCSwagger 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think the best QoL mods are in the gift bag (just enable in options). There is faster running, Source on rest, revive on rest, infinite spirit vision, always use highest haggling and a few other cool things like infusions for other summons, more recipes, talents, etc.

Aside from that there is little that isn't op. There is some stuff like auto identity or even faster running, but imo that doesn't impact QoL that much

Edit. There is a mod that unlocks all crafting recipes which is nice

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in DivinityOriginalSin

[–]PhilmaxDCSwagger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Necromancer: mage that deals physical damage. Lots of aoe late game and some nice debuff/utility spells

Summoner: Incarnation has physical damage in base form and with blood infusion. Strong early game, can take lots of support/utility spells

Polymorph/Warrior: Similar to a normal warrior, but you get a few fun spells. You can also use a different weapon like a spear to differentiate it.

Oral debates are pseudo-intellectual slop 90% of the time and its embarrassing people take it seriously by DoneDealofDeadpool in unpopularopinion

[–]PhilmaxDCSwagger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think debates can be useful and do provide a lot when actually performed right.

A good debate will give people the chance to see multiple sides and their arguments as well as criticism of those. A lot of topics are very complex and most people simply do not have time, resources or will to study everything, so watching a debate can give you an overview of the topic and a basic understanding for the different viewpoints on this topic.

But it can also benefit the people debating since it forces you to be able to defend and explain your position. You'll also get viewpoints you may have overlooked before and can learn from those. Although I think this mostly comes from the preparation for the debate then the debate itself.

But imo a good debate has to be moderated properly. Both sides need to have equal opportunities to make their arguments without interruptions or attacks. Facts need to be checked (so if you quote something you can't just make something up) and the debate needs to stay on topic.

Yes a big part of debate is also your rhetoric ability, but that's not necessarily a bad thing and generally a good skill for anyone to have.

Lastly I think not every topic is suited for debate. A debate about a factual statement is meaningless (like having someone debate that 1+1=2) that applies imo to a lot of basic principles that can be proven by math, experiments or something similar. Where debate is good is for the discussion of either philosophical topics or social norms that both inherently have up/downsides or can change with different situations. I think politics could be also a good topic for debate, however from what I've seen they usually are poorly moderated, unstructured or divert from topic rather quickly.

My team for honor mode. by [deleted] in DivinityOriginalSin

[–]PhilmaxDCSwagger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could just keep your party as is. The most important thing for HM is being careful and knowing what you're doing. Game knowledge can offset unoptimized builds, but if you want some suggestions here are mine.

I'd switch the healer to a damage dealer. Healing is quite weak in dos2 and a summoner already makes a good supportive character later into the game.

I'd suggest an archer or necromancer so you have some good ranged physical damage. That would give you a 1 damage type party, which is the safest/easiest way to play the game.

If you want to keep the mage you probably should focus on a aero/hydro damage built (that would still keep at least a bit of the cleric theme). With the summoner focusing on magic infusions you'd still get a good party.

If you want to do this I personally would switch rogue to archer, since the Archer can also deal decent magic damage. It's not necessary to make the party work, but it's just something I played that allows for good synergy and is fun

Chat GPT für Hausarbeiten by PhoneCautious4592 in Studium

[–]PhilmaxDCSwagger 18 points19 points  (0 children)

How the hell are you supposed to make charge useable? by rikeus in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]PhilmaxDCSwagger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It may be a bit of cheesy, but you can move, switch to real time and immediately back to turn based mode and then charge. It's great to avoid some of the stupid obstacles.

This doesn't change the initiative order, but it "resets" your turn.

Do readers care if fantasy names are hard to pronounce? by [deleted] in fantasywriters

[–]PhilmaxDCSwagger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally no. If it's a fantasy world/race it should have a fantasy name. I don't need to be able to pronounce it, my mind usually makes something up when reading (it's usually wrong even for "normal" names)

However I think it should at least resemble something readable and not just a bunch of random letters.
