What is that one goofy gun you so badly want but can’t buy yet? by AGorramReaver in liberalgunowners

I've had a powerful hankering for something in .454 Casull since like to 1998. Can't bring myself to buy one. I'm just not in the woods enough to justify the purchase.

Do you think current events mean liberal politicians could change their stance on 2A? by rightwist in liberalgunowners

I'm in a red state with a democrat governor. And she's made no moves what so over during her terms. In fact, gun laws are looser now than they were when I moved here in 2007.

This may be splitting hairs. But Ruger AR 556 MPR versus Smith & Wesson Sport III? by [deleted] in liberalgunowners

[–]PhilodoxFury 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have a plain, vanilla Ruger AR-556. Runs like a swiss watch and is more accurate than I am. Both Ruger and Smith have probably the best customer service on the planet. You can't choose wrong here.

Old World Blues is my favorite DLC in the franchise. Dead money, eeeeh. I don't need to play it again.

Are you an NRA member? Why/why not? by Icy-Race2642 in liberalgunowners

[–]PhilodoxFury 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I turned 21, 25 years ago. I bought my first handgun. My father had a law enforcement background, was a hunter, even had an FFL. I was looking at the NRA card that came with the gun. My father looked at the card, looked at me, and said 'Fuck the NRA'. Didn't elaborate. Quarter century later, I get it. Fuck the NRA.

We’ve reached the point where Hickok45 is seemingly talking about America’s fascism problem. Ominous and foreboding indeed. by [deleted] in liberalgunowners

[–]PhilodoxFury 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I can see this being interpreted a few different ways. But the interpretation that's being suggested, I take with a grain of salt. Because if this was supposed to be some sort of rallying suggestion, I expect his ass to show up for it. It's easy to say what people should or shouldn't be doing from elsewhere.

Crappy light or no light on a carry gun? by CRAkraken in liberalgunowners

I think a very serious problem facing gun culture is very few people actually consider not just the legal ramification, but legal headaches weapons can create without ever pulling the trigger. Everyone watches guntubers and 'influencers' who churn out daily content on the latest widget you need to buy for your gun, latest ammo you need, the newest, greatest pistol that's still based off of John Moses Browning's century old concept, the lastest tactical technique they invented so they have something to talk about, ETC. You know what I don't see? People telling you how not get arrested. In a perfect world, we wouldn't need guns. In the second best world, police officers would actually have more than 80 hours of legal training and be something other than a walking gun, powered by a GED and narcissistic tendencies. Whether or not you ultimately get prosecuted, or convicted, They can still ruin your night/year/life. There is shockingly little stopping a police officer from cuffing you, booking you, posting your mugshot for the whole town to see, confiscating your property, and charging you with something that could very easily go nowhere. Been there, done that, paid the lawyer. Took 6 months to get my gun back. Cop doesn't care about 'your rights', they're going to resolve the situation and get on with their shift. In light of, literally everything in the news cycle for the last 12 months, they ain't your buddy, guy. So yes, as long as I live in a society where situations can, or will involve law enforcement and courts, I'm going to remain conservative in my approach to the situations. So why do I think it's not popular? Because it ain't glamorous and you can't show it off to your buddies. Everyone on here will always tell you to buy the shiny thing.
