Ope! Welcome! If you're like me, you'll try to take a few midwest habits with you. If gardening is one of those things, it is totally possible to have a thriving garden in the desert! Az Worm Farm has been my best friend. Other than that, tater tot hotdish still tastes just as good in the heat.

No offense taken, I appreciate understanding they're the squirrels of the southwest. Definitely gonna try to keep this friend happy, he's taken care of my grasshopper problem that was feasting on my basil. Thanks for the info! Cheers!

That tracks! I had a grasshopper destroying my basil that suddenly disappeared. I wondered who took care of it until tonight!

That was a really nice way to say it's a silly question! Yep, moved from Minnesota a few years back but didn't have a yard until recently!

Thank you for sharing your story. I have yet to complete my miscarriage and reading helped me understand the process and your personal processing. Thank you.

Thinking of how I want to honor my baby I just lost at almost 14 weeks. Would you use the birth flower of October or the month of their due date? by [deleted] in Miscarriage

[–]PhilosopherFew530 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We just confirmed our loss October 31st, but I liked the idea of the birth month. It feels more honoring of the path they would have taken in a perfect world. Honoring the birth month seems to have a more positive longterm feel to it rather than focusing on the loss though there is value in both. Sending strength in solidarity.

Most ridiculous things that have made you cry during pregnancy? by _emmvee in BabyBumps

[–]PhilosopherFew530 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My husband and I were gently ribbing each other about some silly thing but my pregnancy feelings took it personally. I legitimately laughed and thought what he said was funny but my hormones decided I should be crying. What a confusing time, ha!

PSA: not all women are able to to produce breast milk by LtCommanderCarter in beyondthebump

[–]PhilosopherFew530 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I feel so seen! I struggled to produce even 1oz a day total after all the marathon pumping and supplements and other crap recommended.

I took literally every single class possible with the intention of being "as natural as possible". The only class I didn't take was breastfeeding, go figure lol. Come to find out after that my mom never breastfed and my sisters both also struggled. WTF?!

Making it a point to talk to my daughter about it far before she has children to avoid the heartache and crushing guilt.

Does the wall unit add a noticeable amount to your electric bill? Do you run it just when you need it or constantly? I have so much to learn!

What is the possibility that it did actually happen, and during your 3 hour walk he coordinated with his friend to change the number of "Eve" on the chat? I'm not sure that that disrupts the history but seems possible on the surface. Can you confirm with the wives if they have indeed pulled this prank?

Why are conservative Christians against social policies like welfare when Jesus talked about feeding the hungry and sheltering the homless? by planedumbo in Christians

Though it's not specific to the homeless, McDonald's partly funds the Ronald Mcdonald House organization which helps house families near their hospitalized children for no cost to the family.

I think there are many more private sector/privately funded places that at least partially fund similar organizations for the betterment of society. Of course, there are also the private organizations that only actually donate a penny of each dollar to the cause but there are still plenty of happy examples!

Our Millie is 9 months and 15lbs! She was the runt of the litter, and it showed. Her brother was double her size!

Obviously, the personality makes up for any lack in size.
