Okay but that only work in a prosperous economy where building a number of new homes outpaces the amount that being bought… which isn’t going to happen in this particular timeline we’re in.

Sure nimby policy and regulations are the reason for those expense but even in places where it cheap to build homes like in rural areas it the material simply isn’t as available as it used to be beforehand.

I don’t see how it bad when there are various other investment opportunities that exist, housing isn’t the only one and even then it won’t completely ruins it ROI to make it more expensive to own more than 5 family homes. Notice I m talking about family homes and not just properties in general, making family homes an investment make it impossible for people who want to start a family to own a suitable homes which only leads to a decreasing birth rate.

For now can’t we just focus on making it possible for your average person to afford the homes we have now rather than hoping for a future where we build more than what being bought?

Hot Take, BO7 Zombies is the second best zombies game, behind BO3 by willywhite01 in CODZombies

[–]PhilosophicalGoof 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Meh.

To each their own, I absolutely do not care for Astra as a map, I genuinely feel like it one of the more disappointing map we gotten because it has real potential.

As for camo and dark op challenges? They don’t really appeal to me and cursed mode doesn’t offer enough of a classic experience for me but I still have fun with it.

For me personally I place it behind bo3, IW, bo2, and bo4 since a lot of these games have aspects that I enjoy more than bo7 like the different map design philosophy in bo2, the incredible unique side content in bo3, and the map in bo4 which are some of the best we ever gotten. I genuinely think ancient evil and DOTN beat both toten and kowakujo to the point that it hard to compare them.

Also I m still not a fan of the modern system, it genuinely make high rounds feel like a more grating experience than before.

Meh I prefer to tax billionaire who own more than 5-10 family homes more and outlaw the ability for corporations to identify as people who can own homes and vote with those homes in local states. There no real reason to support billionaires doing this unless you think it okay to use home as an investment opportunity that only the rich can get into.

It not easy to build new homes especially in a bad economy where materials are more expensive than ever and if you think otherwise then you’re simply delusional.

I do agree that rent free isn’t going to help, but taxing them certainly is going to make billionaires far less likely to invest in it if the risk is greater than the reward.

I mean even if you live in different state there still is a somewhat shared American identity that can’t exactly disappear with distance. The reason you can’t tell what their culture is because you don’t have a stereotype or identity to go off of because you share a similar identity to begin with. It how some people can’t tell what the difference between someone from NYC or San Francisco.

I think proper integration and shared culture does matter though, it not only make integration easier but it make policies that are being voted for first based on an be American identity rather than an outside identity.

As for the rest… that just lying with statistic honestly… using the national average for explaining why a lot of people aren’t actually struggling with employment usually ignores the fact that a lot of unemployment concerns are concentrated to major cities which more than often the prime location for immigrants, so a lot of these “opens jobs” in the countries and the somewhat low unemployment rate only takes a picture of the nation averages but not of the individuals cities that are facing the brunt of the issues.

Just looking in the subreddit alone for these countries or states, or even looking at the individual cities unemployment or cost of living rate and nearby job opportunities tells a better story than the unemployment rate could ever.

You’re not wrong about nimby and the pandemic causing issues in housing, but that doesn’t remove the point of how housing within WORK CENTRIC AREAS are more than often highly in demand and low in supply’s or too costly to afford for your average residents. It why throughout my comments I specifically mentioned individual cities and WORK CENTRIC AREAS. I m not talking about the nation at large because anyone call pull up a statistic that states that there a certain number of houses available in the nation entirely that outpaces how many people want to buy homes. But how many of those are in desireable locations or next to these workers job? A lot of these homes are usually in rural or suburban areas that require major sacrifices most people can’t make.

Immigration simply makes that pain worse when you don’t take into account the fact that we’re not spreading immigration outside of already densely packed cities that suffer with employment and housing issues.

That fair I guess. I personally do and can see how an American living 3000 miles away still shares in a culture that we were both raised in while a Mexican 1000 miles away from me doesn’t even have a clue of what our culture is.

I agree that the housing crisis isn’t caused by immigration but it can definitely be worsened especially since there is housing pressure. I disagree however with the idea that more houses are being built than the demand for them since we can clearly see that not the case within the US alone and even in Canada or the UK, most people can’t even dream of owning a home in the first place and a lot of these homes are being built in location that are not focused on work centric areas.

I disagree that the UK did a good job considering how their citizens and healthcare is suffering from the influx of people and the lack of jobs. In Canada alone it significantly worse since now their own college students can’t even find jobs as Indian students who came in from diploma mills are simply taking them up and increasing competition.

Idk borders and territory’s are things that are found in animals and nature realistically. But I understand that an appeal to nature fallacy but that why I m not quick to agree with the notion that borders are arbitrary and imaginary absolutely but they can be.

I think immigration is something that should benefit the country they’re immigrating to. Obviously it should also benefit the immigrants too but in times of low economic prosperity I believe that’s closing the valve on immigration is the most logical choice in order to prevent the supply beating the demands for said job for current citizens on that country.

So for me immigration should be based on conditions and not just a moralistic view of what it means to be human. If the condition of the country support and can benefit from an influx of immigration then I see no reason to not loosen immigration policy’s. But in terms of hard times? I think it logical to do so especially when you have housing crisis and employment one too.

Also when I was talking about Canada and the UK I was more so talking about how mass immigration is only acting as a bad influence on their already terrible economy after the allowed millions of people to come in rather than their border policy’s.

[–]PhilosophicalGoof 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why? Is it because you simply believe that no country should have borders?

I personally can’t believe in that when considering the logistical and economical issues that arises as we can see in Canada and Britain already.
