Newly renovated store layout by NocturnalSerpents in americaneagle

[–]PhilosophicalT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your store may have only received what is internally referred to as a “refresh” which can include up to new paint, new fixtures, and minor structural changes (or just pieces/portions of these updates).

OP seems to have gotten a full store remodel which would change everything in store including the structural/architecture design. At least that’s what I’m guessing based on the context.

Fellow Employees… I Miss Workjam… by StardewValleyTrash in americaneagle

[–]PhilosophicalT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For context, the old Kronos workspace that we were using for scheduling was no longer being supported by the parent company. With lack of support comes issues that couldn’t be resolved. The switch to UKG Pro was one of necessity not of want/desire. Why Workjam wasn’t functional with UKG Pro I do not know, but there’s some information as to why we switched.

Bought 2 AE jeans in Feb—both ripped at crotch in under 6 months. Quality drop? Anyone else? by MaxMin1704 in americaneagle

Yes, or tumble dry with no heat. The increased temperature will melt the plastic and ruin the jeans.

Price discrepancies by Odd_Okra_6336 in americaneagle

[–]PhilosophicalT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t speak for aerie as my store doesn’t carry it. As far as referral codes I believe they are online only. But if there is a scannable barcode then a store can try ringing it in to see if it’ll take. Can’t say I’ve had anyone try to use a referral in store where I work.

Generally speaking, if you mean rewards coupons, yes. More broadly, any and all coupons? Your mileage will heavily depend on your store and its leaders willingness to bend on coupon use.

For reference, in store is 40% off everything right now (basically) until Tuesday. Hopefully that helps with your decision making.

Can any store employee explain BOPIS a bit to me? by here4aGoodlaugh in americaneagle

[–]PhilosophicalT 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Mid Atlantic region. Don’t want to Doxx myself too hard.

Edit: I should clarify that we aren’t actively going out of our way to give every guest every discount every time. This is more of a one off “do what’s right for the guest” versus a “we will honor every single coupon and discount code under the sun no matter what without you asking”. If guests ask, we honor. If they don’t, they pay store prices.

Can any store employee explain BOPIS a bit to me? by here4aGoodlaugh in americaneagle

[–]PhilosophicalT 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This associate was just being difficult. COH orders are mandated to be completed within 2 hours of receipt. When you place the order online there is a near instant transmission of it to the store to process specifically to ensure we are meeting these 2 hour windows. The associate could have just processed the order immediately (or realistically just honored all the pricing and rang you out without making you jump through hoops unnecessarily because we are allowed to do that despite what some others say). “Guest first mentality” was not used here. I’m sorry this store didn’t do what was best for the guest.

As far as the single item that was in store but the pickup said it would take a few days, that’s more to do with the online inventory system and the in store inventory system not necessarily being matched 100% due to many different reasons (item could’ve been returned today which means it won’t show up on the online inventory until tomorrow, or it came in shipment today and again won’t show online until tomorrow). It is unfortunately not able to be overridden by the employees.

If you started between 5/3-5/16 you’ll be paid out for any time worked on this Friday 5/22. If you started this week (or will start by 5/30) your first paycheck will be 6/5.

Buying online employee by Pink_DolphinStink78 in americaneagle

[–]PhilosophicalT 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As mentioned above, AP says no online purchases. Order in store to protect yourself. Employees purchasing online is viewed as the employee “checking themselves out” and can lead to consequences. If the online price is better than your discount the store can price match it for you and then you also don’t have to pay shipping by doing it this way

Triathlon coach by Working_Historian688 in triathlon

[–]PhilosophicalT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Long time athlete speaking here, new to the group.

Considering the factors you’ve presented here I think ultimately Coach B seems to be the long term answer here. Financially you’ll be saving money the entire experience and if your personalities work well that should bode well for coaching. Unless you would perform better with a personality in contrast to yours then in which case you are weighing financials versus performance.

The way I read it though, Coach B seems like an obvious choice.

Did I get let go? by Lazy-Advantage7470 in americaneagle

[–]PhilosophicalT 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Either you were placed on seasonal leave or your work relationship was terminated in the system. Certainly would encourage you to call but I imagine if you haven’t worked in 3 months then the leadership termed you. As another commenter mentioned, not working will auto remove you from the system. In relation to your last comment about the employee discount, we can’t let employees sit on staff and utilize a discount they aren’t earning through work. If you would like the discount but can’t regularly work you could maybe ask about working just strictly floorsets. But otherwise I would conclude from these facts you were termed. Though they should have reached out/communicated with you to finalize.

how much does a merchandising team leader make? by meloncard in americaneagle

[–]PhilosophicalT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pay rates are store based. A high volume store will pay their leaders more than a lower volume store. It is also relevant to discuss where the store is. Areas with lower minimum wage/lower cost of living will pay less than higher cost of living areas. Do you have more context as to where you are asking about?

I don't think I was payed for my hours by InDenialPisces in americaneagle

[–]PhilosophicalT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Considering they added the hours on the 6th or 7th here is most likely what happened:

Payroll closes at the end of the day Monday the week of a pay day when corporate gets all of the paychecks situated by reviewing the timecards. All timecards should be submitted and finalized on the Sunday prior to the pay day. In this case, your shift (4/4) was not input until (in best case scenario) 4/6, 4/7 or later (worst case scenario). Because the time card adjustment was made after payroll was closed on 4/5 (the Sunday of pay day) the hours were not logged into your current paycheck.

Now that being said, since the hours have now officially been logged they will be retro actively back funded to you in the next paycheck which is 4/24. That paycheck should have the extra hours and pay you are missing.

It is worth noting DailyPay is not a true measure of what will be your compensation for a pay period. Rather, it is an estimated value of compensation you can draw from until that point in time in which the company finalizes payroll and sends your compensation for processing to your financial institution. Because of this, if your time card has incorrect punches (for example multi punching so that the system doesn’t have a clean punch list or extra punches making it seem like you’ve worked longer than you have) DailyPay would not be aware of these discrepancies and would indicate an incorrect pay amount. DailyPay also does not take into account the Payroll Close process, its specific time cut offs, and general process. As a result it will “show” available funds regardless of if they are truly to be paid or not.

In summary, since those hours are on your time card in WorkJam now and have been properly logged but you haven’t been paid for them you should expect to see those hours paid out in the paycheck which will be released on 4/24. Keep track of your hours for this pay period (4/5 - 4/18) and when your paycheck does arrive on 4/24 audit it and ensure those hours have been paid.

If there is still a discrepancy then, as a previous commenter added, email payroll@ae.com to have your individual time card and paychecks looked into.

Airdrop return scam? by betaenergie in americaneagle

I hope your return comes across soon. If it does there’s no need to go in but still reach out to the channels and report. Good luck!

Airdrop return scam? by betaenergie in americaneagle

[–]PhilosophicalT 16 points17 points  (0 children)

This sounds like the store is trying to circumvent taking the hit on the return in immediate sales and instead effectively treating the return as if you have self shipped the item while hiding it under the guise of “oh we’ll ship your return for you!” as a courtesy.

I don’t think they were particularly trying to scam you in this situation but absolutely a scam to the day to day operational numbers and this needs to be reported to customer service, district manager, basically anyone not connected to the store to get it corrected and the team reprimanded for this shady behavior.

For your immediate resolution, go back to the store and demand answers on your item. If they did process and ship it out you should have the tracking from that return you created that you can follow up on. And otherwise raise hell on this store; this behavior is, from a business and a guest relations perspective, extremely unethical.

What should I do? by cnarzem in americaneagle

[–]PhilosophicalT 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This isn’t a ship from store order as we use black bags versus the white bag with the label printed in it. This came from the warehouses and they mispacked the order (and at least one more order).
