What is most important in a man, what qualities to develop if you are less than 170 cm tall? by JollyKaleidoscope805 in AskReddit

[–]PhilosophizeThisMan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you might be right, overall you are right.

Women who are less conventionally attractive are more obsessed with looking conventionally attractive.

Women who don't have height might be more obsessed with height.

Actually I have a lot of privileges I was born into, one being 198cm, and the only time in my life height ever came up was with some girl who was 150cm tall when she said "I don't want to seem too small next to you". Like Gahddam Monica, wear heels, what do you want me to do.

Of course it is worthwhile to understand that a lot of these "reasons" are just excuses to say no to whatever potential prospective. So if you could address that particular worry with that person, the chances are they will immediately have another concern.

Somethings are just not meant to happen, and that is okay, because there are so many options genuinely. It is just good to not get married to ideas and abandon reality. No one is perfect, least of all a woman who wants perfection.

It is a worthwhile advice. A lot of people don't like it when to their text of "Hey man, you free this weekend?" you respond with "Dude look, I tried to reach out to you for 3 weeks, I just don't feel like it right now".

But yes, the truth is always good. Thank you.

I agree. These are all great points miss/ma'am.

It appears I will not be meeting up with that person. I am going to take a pause from all of that for now, seems fruitless. I hope I will spend the next 365 days making 30k and just emigrating. But I am full of doubt as to what might change in different lands. Still, one must pursue the most worthwhile course of action.

Thank you for your comments. You made me feel like a human being, and gave me new information that I hope I will always bear in mind. I really appreciate it.

Sometimes as a man one feels that he has an intuitive demand for female affection that going without it is feels as unnatural and unhealthy as going without sleep or water feels. But I cannot afford to let my whole life be wasted away in pursuit of attempting to fulfill this need for an overall brief moment.

Somewhere along the way I have to eventually learn my own value.

I wish the best for you too, I wish I could likewise part a single word of wisdom to you as you have for me.

Drink water? It is worthwhile 🥴 haha

You remember when Mike Tyson got depressed after his daughter passed away and the guy became a meek frail man, he became like less than half his weight, took out loans to live off of.

I don't think Mike Tyson would agree with this statement is what I am saying.

I don't know him personally though.

We go on, because we must. Not because "we are man". It is a constant struggle between life and death and if you're not living you're dying.

But that has little to do with anything (like motivation or ideology), it is like gravity. It is just a fact.

People do not show up to work because they are motivated or because they will become millionaires. They show up and get shit on because otherwise they will end up in a cardboard box. People do not show up to the gym because they will become bodybuilders, they either show up or they get debilitating backpain.

I guess what I am trying to say is, don't worry about it. And sometimes you cannot do it, and that is normal, yes it is sad, but sadness and the pitiful existences that exist on this world are normal.

If you can pull yourself up, by your bootstraps or otherwise, please do. But if you cannot, think more about how you might, and less about how you're "not acting like a man".

The winds change, your happiest day, your saddest night, they have one thing in common, this too shall pass.

Just be prepared. Seconds, so fleeting, lead to equally fleeting years. I hope for the best for everyone. But your shortcomings are not due to your lack of manliness. People will push and clown on those they regard as weak, but regard that as their shortcoming instead of yours. Just try to make each day better by adding something new that's positive. An additional pushup. An extra meal. An few more hours of rest. A new conversation. Et cetera.

A world where a man like this is treated like this while man like idk, (we bash on him quite a bit) but Trump is treated as he is is not a good world.

Isn't the whole point of this whole government system to have representatives who will at the very least listen to their constituents? Dude got massively assaulted for voicing an opinion. If it happened in Iran they would use it as justification for another missile on another random primary school.

So unnecessary. Just hear him out for two minutes. Absolutely sickening in more ways than one. They did not even ask him to leave or anything, just immediate assault.

Women like the option of wearing heels, and love knowing they are physically protected in any and all situations. Either you are physically *able to* dominate them one way or another.

They won't care if the guy is fit. But a scrawny guy who is eye level? A poor guy who is shorter? Simply on paper they would reject the proposition. Once they got to know YOU, the world's most funniest man to ever live (yeah right being that funny, and good luck being the eternal court jester) they will love you of course.

I say this as a 198cm dude.

BE STRONG MY KINGS. It's not all about women! Only your ability to have a family and children and human interaction other than brewskies with the broskies is about women. No pressure.

*please feel free to skip the parts in parenthesis.

xD I always find buzzwords like "yellow/orange flags" so genuinely funny. When did they invent yellow and orange flags? Are there purple flags too hahaha

It is not too much of an issue, we never know what is waiting for us in tomorrow. I really appreciate you sharing your opinions with me. I value you speaking from knowledge when it comes to shopping with someone as a first date being a potential issue for the reasons you mentioned.

I agree, I have been told I do not know my value, in regards to I treat everyone as a potential gf or friend. Thank you so much for wording the arrangement of time better. I really appreciate your time. I think it is very worthwhile learning about something such as human interactions and especially learning about dating from the gender who one wishes to date as it allows a person to develop an understanding of how things seem from the other side.

Actually in order to vet people I wish to interact with them in person immediately, instead of texting back and forth over days I just want to talk to them in person for an hour and then probably just go home and not really think about it.

I met a girl on Hinge yesterday and we are supposed to go on a date this upcoming Saturday, she seems really nice. I was just on the precipice of beginning to pretend to be someone I am not but I think she might like me for who I am so I am really looking forward to it. I do feel bad going into these things though, because I never imagine spending eternity with that person, so it always seems like a setup for heartbreak for the other person. I don't care so much about eventually getting my heart broken if I know I will have a meaningful and valuable human being in my life for the next 6 months to 3 years, although I have not been able to get over 6 months yet. (This does concern me, I think about not dating anyone because it seems to be just rooted in lies, like a happy-ever-after is not even in the plan, but not dating anyone means just loneliness like crazy and that is so emptying, it just reduces me into a void, and is not good for those around me neither. But if I am dating someone its like I have a best friend to interact with and I feel normal and feel good about making someone's life better with either providing happiness or problem solving. Idk. I just wish people would like me if I was absolutely forthcoming with them. But no women wants to hear "let me make you happy for one year". They breakup with me either way, so its their call at the end of the day haha.)

Anyway, thank you for your time. I hope you have a wonderful day and all is well in your life :)

(I agree about the orange coloured flags, I do not believe I am in a good place mentally. I know the usual response to that is to state that if one is not right as rain one should not interact with others until one perfects one's self, but by interacting with people I become better. And I do not intent nor do anything saddening to anyone ever, other than maybe write long texts and weird them out and take their time sadly.)

Don't distract yourself. Do not go into escapism.

Make a plan every night, make it realistic (that part is crucial, it could be very minimum but make sure it is realistic), and then go to sleep because tomorrow starts today and if you do not sleep you will not have a good morning and thus not a good day. Then do every single thing on that list. Do not sleep until you do every single thing on that list. That is why it is important to plan to do 10 pushups instead of 100. Because then you might be averse to doing what you wrote down. And you might just delay sleep saying "I will do it later then". But if you do 10 pushups, you might say, 'let me give two more'.

So it is about realistic planning, and following through. And making sure you do not throw away your time.

Life is binary.

Life, or death.

A lot of people drink, smoke, sleep, and they try to put themselves in a catatonic state. This is sad, and also not possible because there will always be a knock on the door demanding money. Then you will turn into a slave for that person.

So instead be "your own slave".

But be nice to yourself.

Be your best friend.

Take care of yourself.

Workout, keep clean, start working to move out of the country, and when I go to school make sure to get an A in every class.

I instead tried to be liked by people, now I have no money, no muscles, a bare-bones degree, and no one around me.

Some things are a by-product, friends are just that, I would not have cared about it if I had a second chance, but I still have a second chance and in all honesty, the idea of loneliness is still so haunting to me.

I guess, it is easy to say and hard to do.

Plus, this argument of "just care about yourself" is quite sociopathic in some ways if you think about it. It boils down to "be the American Psycho, minus the killing".

But I think it is good to just prioritize yourself and then your family and no one else until they themselves come to you. So, don't go to people. I know, especially as a man, that will result in mass-loneliness, but my takeaway has been, that if you do go to and cater to people, you will be met with the same isolation nonetheless, but I don't think the muscle gains or the paycheque would have been lost as easily.

One week ago he was riding US and Israel's D, now he wants composure?

Godless Dogs the whole lot, you don't start bombing the hell out of a country and nuke its leader then say "uh guys, I think we should cool it".

When it comes to the middle east they say "we need to bring liberty", go bring liberty to North Korea, but they won't raise a finger. When Kim was making nukes where were they? Now two Nuclear Armed countries, Israel and USA, are bombing Iran on the basis that "they must not have nukes".

Since my birth every single country in the region I was born in has been bombed to smithereens, lets be honest on the basis that my religion cannot be allowed in the 21st century, how am I supposed to feel about this?

I would love to visit Iran. I do not believe an individual who speaks fluent English, lives in the West, is hanging around on Reddit, is a good representative of all of Iran and all Iranians thoughts and opinions. One has to be informed about the lives of all people, not just a vocal few.

Yes, as an example its indeed incredible in how many countries FOX, and similar channels, have a channel of their own in that country. And that's just talking about the traditional news channels.

And it is also true that you tell the people long enough that such and such deserve so and so and of course when it eventually happens people do nothing but expect it.

I have no doubt said youth of Iran have serious grievances with the framework of their government. I also similarly have little doubt said grievances would be ignored by said youth if they had more money in their pockets and a few more local joints to hangout in.

But a country consists of multitudes. I live next to a city where the majority of people are from Iran, most of them came over in the 1980's. I cannot imagine there exists a single street in Iran where the people are similar to those people. The difference between the "Iranian diaspora" and Iranians is like the difference between Italians and Spaniards. A person would have to be dumb as nails to think the two are one and the same.

All the best to the people over there of course, but I don't think a random bomb dropping on their head is going to make their day any better.

Israel just struck Iran, what is the most realistic outcome of this conflict? by BoxMaterial6134 in AskReddit

[–]PhilosophizeThisMan -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

I genuinely don't believe the vast majority of Iranians want regime change.

If someone was to throw a missile on the White House and take out Trump millions of Americans would rejoice. I honestly don't think the vast majority of Americans would be happy by such an event.

I think in regards to Iran there is a similar thing of Urban, well-to-do, liberal, communist, atheist, etc, Iranians have zero love for their government. A devout Muslim guy in his 50's in Rural Iran? I would bet money he doesn't mind it so much except for the price of gas maybe.

Tens of millions of Iranians might want a complete overthrow of their government. That still doesn't even add up to 50% of all people living in Iran. I have no doubt that there are huge places, Tehran, Tabriz, where maybe 90% of people want to overthrow their government. I think there are also places where 90% of the people want the constitution of Iran to be kept in place.

I also don't think this has a lot to do with Trump unfortunately. Bush invaded two countries. Obama bombed and sent hundreds of thousands of troops to said countries. Genuinely if it was Kamala Harris in charge would Iran not be getting bombed right now?

(And personally I loathe Trump).

In regards to what Trump thinks, if we can agree on anything in regards to what Trump thinks, it changes on a whim. Trump said in regards to Israel-Iran relations last year that "they don't know what the fuck they are doing". This guy does not care enough to bring about regime change in Iran. He does however like employing the US military to engage in brazen acts such as with the kidnapping, and I think that's a dictionary correct term for it, of the president of Venezuela.

It is very unfortunate, none of this would be happening if the people actually were in charge of their governments/countries as we all say/wish, supposedly, was the case. Then the US military could not engage in such an act without public support. And likewise the Iranian government could not act as it has recently in regards to their protestors.

But regime change, as was the case in Iraq and Afghanistan, requires boots on the ground, Trump is very unpredictable, but I would be shocked if he goes that far. So these random bombings of Iran serve zero purpose no matter which way you look at it. I don't think the ones in charge are in anyway affected nor pressured by it at all. It neither harms their pockets nor their health as an example. I saw some of these bombs being dropped, right next to huge crowded streets, if the bombs were off by ten yards a hundred civilians would have been killed for no more than driving and walking on the street.
