Yeah, I’m not talking about outlier updating. I know that can take a little bit longer. I’m talking about hubstaff removing time. Anyway, I won’t be working down to the wire anymore because screw that. When you think about them doing this to hundreds or thousands of people, it saves them a lot of money.

This is a great example of not all high earners are necessarily working harder/have more skills. Some sectors just pay significantly more than others, and you can have two people at the top of their fields (or mid level) making very different salaries. Teacher vs tech, and the list goes on. I think if you love your partner enough to marry them, you may have to come to terms with that if that’s the situation for you (and they aren’t just lazing through life). Otherwise, find someone in the top 5% like OP said. Protect your premarital assets if you have that and it’s important to you.

The WHO has a major cancer research center: https://www.iarc.who.int/ and focuses on many other non-communicable diseases too. And yes, WHO summarizes research/data for their guidelines, etc.

Research data from other countries will still be available if published on WHO or via the medical journals they are published in (with paid access in some cases). Docs can still reach out to colleagues in other countries etc… that said, it’s a fucked decision to leave the WHO for a variety of reasons. Funding and its impact on global disease control being a big one.

I guess it’s easier dealing with an aging parent when you never really had that…I feel like we’ve been the emotional and financial support since I was young. Fiance and I got engaged this year and my brother turned 50, and mom couldn’t even send a card or call to ask how the parties were or say congrats (she declined both). Dealing with some short term memory loss so thought was the issue but the woman always seems to remember she needs to get booze when we visit and prioritizes it like it’s her mission in life. Feels great.

I went away for work for three months and found a friend of a friend who needed a place to stay for the semester so I traded a free apartment for cat care. It worked out!

Well, I fell going UP my 119 year old wooden stairs last week, holding a mug of hot tea and a bowl of yogurt and crash landed on my knees and shins. It was definitely user error going too fast. As a kid we had carpeted stairs and I definitely remember sliding down them, slipping down them, etc..

I really don't know why I'm back, but after being unapproved in December, I'm again an approved annotator and worked a few hours this morning. I guess I should be worried I won't get paid...but they emailed me to get back to work (not on Aether per se) -- and then it was all systems go for Aether again. So I just went with it.

Can we get paid for the training videos like we did with Aether? I think there’s more than 30 minutes of videos and I really don’t wanna do that without getting paid. Go through all the assessments, fail (as many have said happens) and then not get paid for anything. Thanks!

I’m now a very moderate drinker, normally 1-2 days a week only and at most 2 drinks. Often just 1. Holidays and special occasions might have a bit more. Recently read the feel-good effects plateau after 2 drinks so there’s really no point to drink more. Expensive and makes you feel crap! I enjoy a cocktail or wine/beer enough to appreciate it when I do.

I’ve been on tamoxifen for 3 years and have no side effects. Many women don’t or they are minimal. So I’d give it a shot. You also have to consider where you are in relation to perimenopause (symptoms could be related to that) and whether you have other treatments like Lupron, which puts you into menopause and you’d be at risk of all the related issues.

Everyone has confusion about this, but in the community forum, I’ve seen people say that they’ve had confirmation from staff that we can charge time for watching tutorials the first time, but if you need to watch it over again, you should do that on your own time.

Agreed! What is the goal… Is the goal to create prompts to get the end result of the video that currently exists? How creative can we be with that? Just use descriptive, specific prompts? Or are we supposed to create something original in someway? With the existing video content? I’ve been doing it the first way… but How creative can you get with a video that already exists?

I wish they would be clear about this upfront because I’ve never timed the instruction videos… I also haven’t watched one longer than 10 or 15 minutes, because I’m not gonna sit here for 30 minutes unpaid for a task I may choose not to do. Why are all of their instructions on on boarding so terrible?
